Worked amazing with an easy clean up

Very pleased with the grill mats! They do exactly what they intend to by keeping your meat moist and allowing the juices to flow freely and burgers on the grill are absolutely scrumptious and a game changer! I would definitely recommend the purchase of these!

12/11/18 - After my original 1-star review, the seller contacted me and offered to send replacements right away which was a nice gesture on their part. I used the replacement mats few times throughout the summer and was happy that those didn’t have any issues. Overall I am happy with the item though I remain cautious at this point which is why I couldn’t give full 5 stars. If I have a successfully grilling season with these mats next year, I will change review to full 5 stars. —————————- ORIGINAL REVIEW I bought these grilling mats at the beginning of the summer (2017) after reading mostly positive reviews. Was so excited that I did not have to clean up after my grilling sessions. Saved me at least half hour after each grilling. Throughout the summer, I happily used these mats 7-8 times (at the most). However after last grilling session over the Labor Day weekend, I noticed that unlike before, the mats were kinda sticking together where they overlapped a little (my grill is not so wide as to accommodate two mats side by side without overlapping each other). Didn't think much of it. When the grill and mats had cooled down thoroughly, I tried separating them with just a gentle force. Next thing I knew, one of the mats had a hole in it (see attached pic). While the second mat didn't rip, its black coating had completely come off and it was now translucent in a couple places. I expected the mats to last at least a couple years but they didn't even last one full summer. Very disappointing because I was ready to give it a 5-star review before this incident. Glad I waited!

This is an excellent product. I want to start my review off by saying that this is not a product that I would typically buy for myself. I was very happy with the results of grilling on my Weber grill (without a mat). My wife bought this for me as a gift, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I wasn’t sure whether or not to keep it, so I checked it out on Amazon. I was glad to see that the packaging matched the images, and after reading the description, I was interested. I was impressed right off the bat with how sturdy the mat was. It feels very sturdy like it is made with high quality materials. I am glad that it came with two mats, because my grill is too big for a single mat. I was impressed to see that when you stack the mats, it didn’t affect the heat transfer where they overlapped. I was also happy to see that they were easy to clean. A simple rinse in the sink, maybe a little scrubbing with a sponge and some soap, and they are good as new. I have had the mats for about 2 weeks, and I have used them about 7 times. So far I have made burgers a few times, hotdogs and brats, salmon, pork chops and a round of grilled chocolate chip cookies. The burgers were great. My niece doesn’t like any pink. I was able to cook them all of the way through, but they held in all of the juices. My niece loved it. I didn’t notice much difference when cooking the brats or hotdogs, because I usually don’t have any trouble with those sticking to the grill. The mats did help even out some of the heat though, so the brats didn’t get burnt by flare ups. The salmon is really where I noticed the difference. I typically had to spray the grill down with an anti-stick agent to keep my salmon from falling apart (My wife cant stand skin-on salmon). The mats were great! The salmon cooked evenly, and slid right off when I was done. The worst part of salmon is the excess cooked to the grill top. No mess here. Overall, this is an excellent product. After a half dozen uses, the mats still look like new and work wonderfully. Great product! And I plan on recommending it to all of my friends’ wives.

OMG. This is the best thing to happen to grilling. No more trying to get last weeks crud off the grill, No more worrying about leaving pieces of wire from the grill scrubber on the grill and in your food, No more concern about the rust that every grill gets (and your food) from being outside all the time. These mats heat up perfectly and they do leave nice grill marks. I made steaks on sunday for my son and I , he's a chef. He asked "Dad, what about getting grill marks? I have to say that it far exceeded my expectation and he was amazed! The steaks came out perfectly with nice grill marks, I also threw some green onions on there... PERFECT! and they don't fall through the grates. Sliced some itatian bread, drizzled some olive oil on the slices and hit them with a little salt and pepper and they toasted beautifully, Of course they were extra good because the got cooked steak juice on them. Mans what a meal!! Then, after dinner, the real test. The grill cooled down while we enjoyed a cocktail then I went out and slid the mat off the grill and into the sink. A little arm water and soap and the burned on steak drippings slid right off. No fuss no muss :) Dried it off and slid it right back into the package for storage in a lower cabinet. Today I used the same mat and did burgers with bacon and smoked Gouda cheese. The burgers were fantastic and juicy, some of the cheese burned onto the mat mixed with back fat and burger juice but the cheese burned bubbly and black. After the grill cooled I picked up the mat and the cheese just slid right off when I ran water on it in the sink!! WOW, Again soap and water wash, dry and back in the package for storage for next time...Wonder if I'll even need the second mat that came in the package LOL. Now that I'm writing this review I wish I'd taken a picture of those steaks.. They were gorgeous.

These mats are way cool!! Was looking for a flattop for my gas grill but for $70, no thanks. I found the Grillaholic mats while looking for a flattop and decided to purchase them based on their reviews, the lifetime guarantee and Grillaholics stated commitment to customer satisfaction. The mats are very thin so they lie flat on the grill. I even got grill marks on my burgers! They're quite slippery so you're guaranteed of no sticking but for burgers I needed a 'pusher' utensil to get the burgers on the spatula. Grill time was exactly the same as without the mats. For storage I'm not going to roll them up (so they won't curl). I'm going to store them in the original Grillaholics package. Cleanup time is about the same as for my grill and since the mats are so slippery there's no sticking to worry about. Even though I've used the mat one time I highly recommend it. UPDATE: I've used the grill mat several times now and I still think it's fabulous. I've found it cleans up faster than cleaning the grill. I get grill marks with burgers but, so far, not with steaks. Because the mat is so thin it doesn't stand upright in the dishwasher. It folds over. The dishwasher can't reach under the fold so I have a bit of cleanup to do post-dishwasher. Working to find a different way to put the mat in the dishwasher. I like the mat so much that I purchased the round mats for my Weber charcoal grill. I use it to grill ribs. I'll update after I use the round mat. Both of my kids will get these grill mats for Christmas. Update 2: I grilled VERY lean (read no juice) and thick pork chops on the grill mat. They stuck lightly to the mat but were easily removed. It went straight onto the top rack of the dishwasher. After washing very little, if any, of the burned on pork chops had been removed. I used a Dobie and Dawn to scrub the mat. Nothing happened. I switched to a mixture of Dawn and Bar Keeper's Friend and used a Scotch Brite scrubbing pad. VOLIA!! All gone. Yes, it took some rubbing and two cleaning sessions to get it all off. Not enough of a problem to downgrade my rating. Now I know how to clean the mat if/when something sticks to it.

Ok, totally objective review. I purchased the Grillaholics mats mainly because of the large number of great reviews on Amazon. Tried them out first night with bone in pork chops - no grill marks and the chops were quite tough. On the plus side, no flare ups and no sticking to the grill. The company had sent me an email asking about my experience, I told them about my experience including a picture of the chops. They responded next day advising me to soak up the grease with a paper towel so the meat wasn't frying in it's grease. Night two, did turkey burgers and soaked up the fluid as instructed. Nice results, got grill marks and turned out well. Night 3, did T bone steaks and asparagus. Really wasn't any grease to mop up and no grill marks at all. The asparagus was great, nice charmarks and done perfectly. So my final analysis would be, the mats are great for veggies, burgers, sea food etc but a steak or chop on the mat is like something done in a frypan, not a grill.

First off, as a self-proclaimed grilling aficionado and a BBQ purist, I don't typically use anything but hardwood lump coal and a match, but I thought I'd give this a try. Simply put, this mat is amazing! Let me break down the benefits... 1) Taste: I've used similar grill mat products and experienced a burned-plastic taste (which other reviewers warned me about). Not with this grill mat. This mat preserves the integrity of whatever I'm cooking. 2) Heat transfer: I prefer my steaks seared but not charred, so I get the coals nice and hot (at least 600 degrees) and sear both sides. This mat not only allows the heat through, but I can even get those highly coveted grill marks through the mat! Major plus in my book. Plus, when I'm cooking something greasy like burgers or brats, there's no arm hair-singing grease fire. Not even an occasional flare-up, which is great, considering arm hair is a requirement of a true backyard BBQer. 3) Clean up: Arguably, my least favorite part about grilling is the clean up. I like to create a mess, not clean one up. When I'm done using this mat, I can literally walk it inside (it's cool to the touch) and wipe it down with a paper towel and throw it in the dishwasher. Done. I've even started taking a spare mat with me to the grill in the neighborhood park. Those public grills are disgusting, but with my trust grill mat, my food never touches the rusty, Hepatitis-laden grates. Oh, and I'd be remiss not to mention the utility of these mats, too. On the days that I'm cooking inside, I use this mat in the oven. Baking cookies? Slap one of these bad boys down on the baking sheet and no more scraping burned cookie remnants off of the metal sheet. Cooking a roast? Put this on the bottom of the pan and presto! Clean up has never been easier. I even used the mat as a "catch-all" below a pie pan (no one likes when your whole man-lair (read: house and kitchen) smells like burned toast. Overall impression: Two man-thumbs up!

These mats are great for bbqing. They have a good thickness. They are easy to clean too.

Used it, loved it. Opened up a whole range of possibilities on the BBQ. Update: Sept 1, 2015 These mats have significantly changed the way I use the BBQ - for the better. For example: No fear of losing food through the grill. I now have a much larger, more organized, area in which to cook the entire meal. Other grill plates used too much available grill area for a smaller amount of usable cooking area. Using the mats affords me real heat zone control on a 30 x 24 grill area. I longer have a problem with hot zones. Better, more effective basting - on both meat and vegetables. Vegetables do not dry out. REAL slow cooking - WITH grill marks Piece of cake to clean Uses up a lot less storage area in the kitchen Has not distorted, warped, or imparted any flavors to foods. Lastly - I recommend using the OXO high temp spatulas and tongs on the mats. Very inexpensive, really do the job, easy to get.

These work really well - on my home BBQ, and over open fire pit when camping. They are thin and thus a little fragile: my camping grate left some kinks, so be careful and was after every use carefully. I use these all the time for BBQ salmon with great results - nothing falls apart!
