SOG EDC Tactical Folding Knife - Pent Arc Folder, Model:PE15-BX

The knife is larger than I estimated when reading the specs, but fits wonderfully in my hand. The pocket clip buries the knife deep in the pocket, and fits very comfortably. Great, aggressive looking every day carry knife.The handle material provides a great grip, rough enough to not slip in wet conditions.The blade came well oiled and sharp. A little adjustment to a few screws was necessary to allow the blade to be functional for one hand operation, but this is easily resolved, and based mostly on personal preference.Overall, this is a great knife and well worth the cost.

This knife is surprisingly lightweight, which is a plus. It is very sturdy. The lock and "flicking" it open/closed takes some getting used to. I had to practice at it to get the hang of flicking open without the blade bouncing back half-way, but the thumbstud simplifies that. Carefully closing the blade one handed by manipulating lock with my thumb and guidung the blade closed with my index finger felt natural, it seemed almost no different than using a liner-lock knife. I have not yet tried this knife with my patrol gloves but will update once I have. I can safely say that I would recommend this product.*edit/additional - after spending a few weeks carrying this on patrol I can say that everything I previously wrote stands. And I have found that I can deploy as well as close this knife while wearing typical patrol type gloves. Also the pocket clip is absolutely perfect, it is strong, keeps the knife from coming loose from my pocket, yet at the same time has not damaged my uniform patrol pants. I most certainly recommend this tool

very good knife but loses the sharpness quick!

I bought mine in 19, I hope they keep making them. I bought some expensive carry knives but I keep going back to this one. It does lose its edge quick but a few swipes across the stone its good as new. Super strong, great grip. Get one if you can.

I was looking for a knife that didn't break the bank. This met all of my expectations and then some. It has a nice pocket clip, fits nicely in your hand, and is extremely sharp. I would definitely recommend!

Light, but not too light. Excellent VG-10 blade that stay sharp for a while depending on use. Axis lock is amazing, super smooth. Opens faster that an assisted opening knife. Can be retracted just as quick with the flick of a wrist. Tip of blade is sharpened on both sides to ensure penetration.

I purchased it for my husband and he loved it, it comes sharp as advertised, also come with lifetime warranty, it will handy for sometime later when we need to sharpen it

I ordered the Pent Arc on Jan 4th and haven't had a single issue with it until now; I take excellent care of all of my knives (This is not my only SOG blade). So upon sharpening this particular blade for only the 3rd time (I like to keep my tools very well honed and in excellent condition), it revealed an impurity in the steel, a small crack near the tip. This is only going to get worse as well as being a weak point for potential fracture. This was not a result of abuse or even regular use wearing away at the blade, as I have only used it for cutting soft materials such as paper / plastic / tape etc. It hasn't even been dropped..Considering this cost me a bit over $100 & SOG is my #1 brand for tools / blades, I am extremely disappointed with this as it has barely been used.. I was under the impression this was among the highest quality Japanese steel (to justify the price). Now, sure this could just be a rare potential defect in the steel, but I have blades that cost me 20-60 less without this kind of problem. I will say that this IS an excellent knife if not for this problem I encountered, and perhaps very few if anyone else will run into this same problem. Despite this issue, I would still recommend this particular knife, just give it a once over (or 6) before you believe you're in the clear.
