Works well on gas grill. Wood chips don't really last long enough, but it is easy to use.

The back part of any grill I’ve ever owned is always the hottest. So I put this smoke box right in the back on the main grate. Now the extra heat keeps the smoke rolling out pretty good. Only thing is you really only get about 20-30 minutes so you have to refill. Refilling is not always very easy cause it’s very hot. Plus it takes a while for the chips to start to smoke. So I have bought 2 of these and I just throw the other one on right at 20 minutes and then refill the other one and wait another 20 minutes. Maybe a bit monotonous but so far this system is working really well.

Bought our first one to try it. We like the smoke flavor when we grill. These smoke boxes impressed us so much that I ordered 5 more. 1 for our other grill. 3 for my sons and 1 for my brother in-law. I usually use hickory + a few other chips. The smoke dispensed from the boxes adds just the right flavor to the meats that are being grilled. I do add a little water to the smoke box when smoking chips are added . This prevents the chips from catching fire and to give off a deeper smoke.

Wayyyyy too small to put anny meats into! Horrible. Do not waste your money on this one
