This ammonia detector is an almost essential safety tool that makes it easy to monitor air quality in agriculture. It has a detection range between 0–200 PPM (parts per million) to provides accurate, real-time, ammonia readings. This identifies rising gas levels before they become a problem. I found it simple to operate, and it seems very well made. The colour display is clear and easy to read, presenting ammonia concentration alongside temperature and humidity. It reacts quickly to changing conditions, and the alarm system, with a horn, vibration, and flashing screen makes it very obvious when an alarm threshold has been reached. This threshold can be changed in settings but I have used my meter out-of-the-box, using the default settings. I note the levels on a board at morning rounds. Any deviation from the norm is instantly obvious. If there were to be a problem in a barn we find the human nose is an excellent alarm system. The monitor has a rechargeable battery. I put it on charge every Sunday after rounds and take it off charge on Monday morning. It comes with its own USB-C lead and a small USB charger. There is a belt clip which I haven't found the need to use. More importantly, it comes in a hard shell case which keeps charger and cable tidy and together with the detector. There is also a comprehensive, but easy to follow manual. Full marks! In summary, this is a well designed and well presented monitor which has performed reliably since we have had it. It is perfect for use on a farm and I imagine it would be equally useful in industrial settings.
