Quality, very well made. Impressive!
Reborn brewer after a 15 year layoff. Back then I used an immersion style cooler to cool my 10gal hot wort down and it actually did a pretty good job. I am up in the PNW and our ground water is pretty cold, 50 degrees. I have not used the Exchilerator yet as I am still getting my full boil equipt cleaned up and inspected. I expect really great things from this beast!I am working with the company with a small issue and that is with the dial therm is not accurate, even after cold and hot calibration. Have not heard yet back (Email to customer service just went out today, Mar 15th. Will come back with updates. Stay tuned.Update. Was sent a new dial thermometer and it is working great. Oh, almost forgot to mention the thermometer was sent priority mail and no charge! Thank you!!

Works extremely well! Super fast chilling!
By adjusting flow I'm able to chill my whole 1/2bbl batch of wort in under 15 minutes, pumping it directly into the fermenter ready to pitch. If you are going to do batches larger that 5 gallons something like this is a must to chill your wort quickly. Larger batches just take Forever with an immersion chiller. The only thing I wish this counterflow unit had was a "centering wire" coil around the outside of the wort tube to keep it in the middle of the water jacket tube. I saw a few competitors products that mentioned that feature in their chiller specifically. It wasn't mentioned in the ExChillerator features but I thought it still might have had something like that, I can hear the wort tube bounce around inside the PEX water jacket tubing so I'm only guessing that there's no centering stabilizer element in there. I'm still really happy with my ExChillerator and I definitely would still choose it over the competition due to the other build features and apparent quality of the unit I received, but I think it could be improved by the addition of a centering wire wrap feature.Overall; highly recommend!

Great system
I’ve used this chiller 5 times and I have only good things to say. It’s well constructed and easy to use. I use quick connect fittings to speed up the assembly. It’s cleans up easily. I run PBW through it for an hour while I’m soaking my Robobrew. After rinsing, I use compressed air to blow most of the residual water out. Likewise, when sanitizing my equipment I run StarSan through. I would definitely buy it again.

Do not stand behind their product
I used this chiller for a few years in my brewery, and it would clog from time to time when doing hop heavy beers, especially with whirlpools, but generally it was easy enough to clear. However during whirlpool of my last hazy it clogged up and we couldn't get it unclogged for nothing. We tried everything conceivable and finally decided to contact the manufacturer. The customer service I received was so bad that is was comical. I mentioned that on their website it states, 'Never clogs, comes with a full 5 year warranty and can handle whirlpools of NEIPA's', and that we had clogged it while whirlpooling a NEIPA and couldn't get it clear. They gave me so much run around and eventually became focused on trying to sell me their newest chiller the brutus, I considered it and they then asked me what I thought would be fair for the old chiller, when I suggested full replacement credit for it towards the more expensive brutus, the salesman tried to guilt trip me into that not being fair to them because they wouldn't make money on the new one. Puzzled, I explained to them that, that's called doing business, sometimes you have to replace products when they don't hold up to your stated claims. That's the cost of doing business." They didn't see it that way and never actually agreed to give me full credit for it, once I brought up some concerns about the brutus being even more susceptible to clogging since it has two channels and water follows the path of least resistance so one channel could become clogged and would be nearly impossible to unclog, and that I may just want to replace the one I have with the same product they went silent, once they weren't going to be able to make money they stopped corresponding with me.... Until they decided to change the wording on their website to "virtually" never clogs and then proceed to tell me that it only says it virtually never clogs not that it never clogs so they are still standing behind their product because they didn't promise that it never clogs, when they actually did promise that, they just tried to manipulate and gaslight me. I was really turned off from this company at that point and would never support them after their shady tactics. I sent several more emails just trying to get some sort of "store credit" since they sell fittings, not even a refund, for my clogged chiller and they never responded to any of those attempts. So I never received any credit for my broken chiller and just had to eat the loss.In the end their product is okay, but the people this run this company are as shady as they come, if you have any problems with this chiller don't expect them to care, their warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on. I wound up going with the brewbuilt counterflow chiller from morebeer and it works like a dream, it has a bigger ID which actually never clogs and chills in about 1/10th the time of the exchilerator for roughly the same price, and it is all triclamp.Do not buy the exchilerator with triclamps either. They told me over the phone that they were sanitary triclamp fittings and didn't have any threads but upon further examination on their website they use a threaded ball valve and threaded thermometer on their triclamp chiller, which completely defeats the purpose of using sanitary triclamp "threadless" fittings. These guys don't get it.

Great chiller!
If I could do it again, I would purchase the larger Exchilerator for my Spike Solo ONLY because this one restricts flow too much for whirlpooling. But when it comes to chilling, it takes my 212F wort down to 64F immediately from kettle to fermenter. Of course it's winter and the water temperature is 47F so I'm sure that helps but I'm very impressed with the chilling ability of this chiller. If you're like me and you have the Spike Solo system with 1/2" ID fittings, get the larger Exchilerator so you're not reducing the flow for whirlpooling.Overall, I'm very impressed and this is way more than enough for your Brewzilla or Grainfather 5 gallon batch systems.

I can't say enough good things about these chillers
I can't say enough good things about these chillers. We knockout in a few minutes on 5 gallon batches using this. In Florida our ground water isn't exactly the coldest around either but using a chugger pump we run about 50% pump flow and get down to 75-80 degrees coming out of this device. I never did mount it due to the inlet and outlets don't come out as the same angle so we just set it on the ground and it works great.Would give it a 4.75 if I could only because of the awkward mounting.
