We had one of these pool heat pump covers for 16 years & it held up great! Only replacing it now, due to a little discoloring. We are in Pacific NW & use it 6 mos out of year. Highly recommend!

This heat pump cover really works. It is important to keep as much snow and moisture out of the heat pump as possible. We have a good amount of snow in the NE, and the heat pump is not exposed to the sun enough to dry it out. The cover is large enough to cover my Hayward HeatPro (HP21404T - dimensions: 30.25 w x 34 d x 44 h). The cover has draw strings to adjust the height and then pull the extra material around the heat pump tighter (check out photos). It also has a small vent on the sides to prevent condensation from building up inside. The cover also has a little felt inside to make it a little more durable and protect the heat pump. The cover looks like it will get a little brittle if exposed to the sun too much. That's usually not the case during the winter. However, at the great price Amazon offers, I don't expect a cover to last more than a couple of winters. I'm more than happy to protect my crazy expensive heat pump by buying a new cover every few years.

Excellent for protecting your heat pump.

This fit our Jandy pool heater great, but only held up about 1 year. The florida sun shredded the outside layer of the cover. I won't buy it again, but still need to find a cover that will hold up the sun, rain, and wind.

Heavy duty material but flexible enough to easily put in place. It was also a good fit and easy to secure.

QUICK SUMMARY: When I originally wrote this review, I gave it 5 stars. But I'm dropping it to 1 star because, a little more than six months later, the vinyl surface has cracked miserably, allowing water to seep onto the water heater it's supposed to protect. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! << Original review follows >> BACKGROUND: My 3-year-old heat pump's fan motor began seizing after a few hours' use until I got it replaced (still under warranty, thankfully). My heat pump is on the side of my house, underneath my eaves, but not fully so, so water running off my roof falls directly atop my heat pump. After getting the fan motor replaced, I thought I ought to keep a cover over my heat pump to help protect it from the elements better, and so hopefully my equipment lasts longer. I bought this Climate Shield because it fit the physical dimensions of my Jandy heat pump, and the product description seemed good. Note that my pool installer wrongly placed my heat pump right up against my home's exterior wall (rather than giving it the manufacturer-recommended 6" of clearance), so it would be challenging to put a cover over my equipment without any clearance. WHAT I LIKE: - It fits over my Jandy heat pump perfectly - It is extremely easy to put on and take off - I was pleasantly shocked to find that this cover has a Velcro seam at the back, so I can splay the cover where my heat pump comes nearly into contact with my home's exterior wall; this makes putting the cover on/off extremely easy to do - There are cinch cords to raise the bottom edge of the cover a few inches above the concrete pad, to provide air circulation under the cover - There is a cinch cord in the front to tighten the cover for very snug fit over my heat pump - There are two grilled vents on the left and right side, to give additional airflow through the cover - The inside of the cover has a fuzzy-soft material lining it, so the protective vinyl doesn't just stick to the heat pump (Originally, I wrote, "There is nothing I dislike about this cover." That is not true any longer. I hate that this cover has failed to protect after a little more than six months of use.) CONCLUSION: This is exactly what I wanted to protect my heat pump from water run-off from my roof, and to keep my equipment protected from the summer sunshine, too. It's too bad that fails miserably to protect my heat pump after so little use. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

Looks well made. Can’t review it yet too early. Let’s see how it survives winter !
