works great. i don't make the coffee in it. but fill it from pots. keeps it hot all day

Excellent hot water urn. Keeps water hot all the time, whenever you need it. It runs very quietly and it does not take long to heat up easy to clean and upkeep.

Really nice. Seals perfectly. It holds a lot of liquid. We make coffee for the homeless and so far it has been good for us. Easy to assembly. Easy to clean if you use a brush that reaches to the bottom. Not to heavy. We make the coffe and bring it out side for the homeless and it last it hot for at least 2hrs without being plug. The only bad thing was that we have to use a cheese cloth to brew the coffee. The holes in where you put the coffee are a little to big and the coffee powder can go through it.

Every year we have a "liquid lunch" or soup party to end the Summer. We have over 70 people attend and never enough coffee. At the last minute I came to Amazon, did the research and chose this Hamilton Beach for two reasons - first, the price was right and secondly, it qualified for Prime and could be here by Friday (party was Saturday). It arrived on Friday as promised, we set it up and would make coffee Saturday. Takes approx. 1 minute per cup of coffee so you know when to start it. When done, remove the basket so it does not continue to perk and it keeps the coffee hot. Friday afternoon my daughter decided she wanted to make a huge pot of hot chocolate as an alternative to coffee. She went to a local store and purchased this same item. Believe it or not, it was only $1 cheaper at this local store BUT you should calculate the time and gas to get there, looking for it and coming back home. As far as I'm concerned, this item is a great buy through Amazon Prime. Both pots worked very well for the party. The reason for one less star is because the inside discolored above the fill line and I have no clue why. It happened on both. The pot with coffee did not scorch nor did it burn the coffee. The hot chocolate pot, however, had settlement on the bottom and that kept getting thicker and thicker. Of course we didn't know this until we emptied it to clean it. I managed to get it clean but it's something you should keep in mind if you're using for hot chocolate. Over all I'm completely satisfied and we had great hot coffee and hot cocoa for a cold October day. We will use this item for parties only so if that's what you need it for (a few parties a year) then the price is right and the item seems to be just the ticket. If you have a break room that it would be used constantly or church dinners more often than a few a year, I would suggest investing in a commercial grade pot just for the sake of a more heavy duty product.

I am very happy with this purchase! I bought it for my daughters high school graduation party. It did the job beautifully! The large 42 cup size meant not having to constantly keep filling it up. The dispenser worked great, no dripping, and no problems. The design of this urn is perfect! It's very solid and sits on a strong and secure base, which means it isn't tippy. I was able to have it close enough to the edge of the table to easily fill coffee cups without worrying that it was going to tip over. I have wanted a nice large coffee urn for a long time, and have researched many different brands and types over the years. This Hamilton Beach 42-cup urn is the one I kept coming back to time after time. Being for a graduation party in which I was already investing a lot of money, this was an area in which I was able to save a bundle compared to other brands I researched, and yet not give up the quality which was important to me. I wanted to be able to use this coffee urn for many more events to come, so I could really get my moneys worth. I believe this urn will accommodate that. If you have been researching many coffee urns, and going crazy trying to make your decision, as I was, I believe you can't go wrong with this one!

Seems to be made from quality materials and does a good job keeping brewed coffee warm. Real issue is the lack of information that states how 45 cups is calculated. The volume of this brewer isn't stated anywhere so 45 cups is dependent on how big that cup is and I haven't tried to figure out the volume. Havnt needed 45 cups of coffee so it may not actually matter. For sure world peace as been facilitated due to this item.

This heats up coffee great

This carafe is great. No weird complicated parts, just fill it with water, put grounds in the bucket on the top, and plug it in - easy coffee, all day. Stays hot, makes happy little percolator sounds, is overall just a good little big coffee machine. Just remember to turn it off yourself. There is no switch or timer. Only plug. Short plug. Okay if there was one improvement to make to this it might be more than a foot or two of cord. But it is still a great carafe.
