Samsonite Winfield 2 Hardside Expandable Luggage with Spinner Wheels, Orange, Checked-Large 28-Inch

I got this to replace a 15-year old ballistic nylon checked bag from Costco. Extremely happy with it, only used it on one flight so far. First, it's a big checked bag, especially with rolly wheels. It's extremely sturdy, especially when filled. Seems to survive baggage handlers tossing it around just fine. I can fit a full size memory foam pillow in it, and a weeks worth of clothes and toiletries. I'm also 6'2 290lbs, so my clothes are big and heavy. I got the shockingly bright orange so it would be easy to spot, and boy howdy is it. I've actually spotted it sitting on the luggage car while the baggagee handlers were loading it on the plane. :) The internal configuration is pretty bog-standard, and very similar to what samsonite bags have used for 20+ years I think. Don't expect any fancy or complicated internal dividers. That being said, it works great for intended purposes, and wasn't too expensive. I use packing cubes for non-clothes stuff inside, and it's a great combination. It will take a few years to know whether it will hold up, but so far it seems to. Have some scuffs on it from first trip, but those didnt damage the case, just added paint/plastic to it, that I was able to remove.

Everyone knows once you buy a Samsonite you will have a bag that will last forever. They are always quality and perfectly sized to meet all airline standards. I wish they were cheaper, but they are a good buy overall.

Bought this for a trip, and it performed better than any suitcase I have ever had. Samsonite has features, price and weight just right for this suitcase. This is a big suitcase so you have to be careful how much pack into it as it may go over the airline weight limit. I'm pretty picky when it comes to buying anything, and I would buy this again and give it out as gifts if I could. The orange color? It's bold and you'll always be able to see it in baggage claim so that's a plus. The only minus is you will see scratches and scrapes on it after your first flight. Oh well. It's not like it's going to be stored in your living room where you'll be thinking about ways to buff out the sratches and scrapes. Just know that you'll be flying with an awesome suitcase AND look good pushing this around.

Let me start by saying I ALWAYS overpack. So a large suitcase is a must. This one certainly fits that qualification. I like that each side is separate. There is a zipper lining that separates one side while the other has a Y strap. (Not unique, but not something I've had since my first Samsonite luggage set in the 80s.) When completely full this thing is MONSTER heavy. So, yeah. Rolling is a must. While it is good, it's really hard to roll straight. It always wants to wander to one side or the other. Never having had a four wheel luggage roller thingy before, I'm not sure how others work, but while not horrible, rolling it while actively having to steer it all the way is hard on the arms. It's kind of expensive and only time will tell if it's worth what I paid, but I have no problem with the manufacturing of the thing, but the outside seems like it will be prone to excessive scratching. My truck has a sprayon bedliner and it will literally eat up the material the hard case is made of. All in all, I'm pleased with the purchase and would recommend it for anyone who travels a good bit. You can literally pack for the whole family on one case for a week long trop.

Ok. so 4 out of 5 stars because I feel the finish is a little weak and VERY easily scratched. I scratched it just putting stuff in it on my dining room table. Lets not talk about how it looked after it arrived at my destination for 2 flights. No Cracks or damage though. So onto the bag. VERY roomy. I packed for a 7 day business trip (im a 6'2 350lb male) with work wear, casual wear and 4 pairs of shoes at size 13. everything fit with much space to spare. The Handle is just at the right height and worked well with my backback's "feature" to sit securely on top of the bag. Locks give a great illusion of security and probably will keep the honest, honest, however their best purpose is keeping the zippers closed. Easy to set the combo BTW. Handles are well placed. No handle on the bottom but my experience those wear quickly away and break. The sides are "soft" and very flexible. The bag does flex as you roll it until it gets going so it feels "flimsy" but that's the design. All in all, Its a great bag. Very pleased with it my only real bone of contention is that now my wife wants one....

Have traveled three time with this luggage. It is sturdy, well made, lots of room and had built in combination TSA lock.Easy to navigate. This color was great to identify at baggage claim. Bought in "orange" but it looks more on the redish side. Did have a couple of scuff marks when picking up at baggage claim - but still recommend.

My husband travels internationally, it's why we got the name brand and a large 28" bag. On the very first trip at baggage claim he retrieved hid bag taped shut because the zipper had opened up, luckily he didn't seem to lose anything. On the next few short trips all seemed ok, though we had to keep re-setting the built in zipper lock, it would "jam" up. So for the next few trips long we used a luggage strap, both we're lost at "bag handling" when bag was inspected and he again retrieved his bag at baggage claim with a popped open zipper. The last straw was on a recent local trip because it's the only time he'll use this bag now when driving and handling his own bags, was when the lock would not unlock at all, even trying the reset directions online and so we had to cut it open. Just disappointed and will go back to soft side as they seem to have more give for when being handled by the airlines. As an FYI we also have the carry-on and it also has zipper issues, they want to separate and open very easily for some reason.

Excellent luggage. Just took it to Mexico. Initially, I felt that this suitcase was a little flimsy but it holds up well. It only had a few scuffs and scratches. I was able to remove most of the black scuff marks. I was able to easily put 50lbs in it and there was plenty of room for more. The spinners are a great feature also. My four year old sat on top while I pushed the luggage all the way through the airport. The product was shipped very fast and it was nicely packaged. The suitcase weighs about 11lbs. TSA lock was easy to use. It would have been nice to have an additional pocket on the outside and maybe a place to write your name etc.. Overall, very happy with the product!

Todo bien con ella en cuanto a materiales diseño y resistencia, solo que se abrió el cierre, no salió nada debido a la manera en que acomodé pero tenga lo en cuenta, no sé si solo es que no la cerré bien. Des pies de esa ocasión no dio problemas.

Super light yet sturdy. First time I've travelled with luggage this big -- but -- size of wheels & max length of handle don't work that well when case is fully (or even mostly) packed. Better than no wheels at all but they are too small to allow convenient handing given bulky dimensions of case. Wish I'd bought a size smaller for my checked suitcase as I really like the carry-on size in this style.

La maleta en cuestión de estética es muy elegante, ese toque de brillo la hace resaltar. Sin embargo anteriormente tuve una maleta que en la parte externa era sin brillo (100% plástico maleta azul) la cual durante 5 años de uso constante los golpes que por naturaleza se generan en un aeropuerto, no fueron evidentes. En cambio esta maleta naranja en su primer viaje se marcaron variar raspaduras y desprendimiento del plástico, no quiero imaginar como se vera después de un año. Cabe mencionar que no use protector con ninguna de las dos anteriores. Se que la marca Samsonite es muy buena, en esta maleta no fue lo que esperaba, por tal motivo no volvería a comprar este tipo de equipaje.

Very spacious and durable. My wife and I can fit all of our clothing in one of these for a week long trip. I like the unique lock and store feature as well. You can't go wrong with Samsonite!
