Willard & May is a responsive and true to their gardeners company. The first shipment of hosta recieved had unfortunately dried out, become a little rotted and was overall bad shape. Four of the seven original roots did eventually come up but are going to need a season to recover fully. These were ordered during the Covid-19 delivery snarl so took quite a while to arrive and this explains the condition of the roots. That said, when I asked for them to make good on the order they promptly responded and sent a replacement out right away. What I recieved was beautiful. Plump, robust, long rooted bulbs with vigorous health. The medium was plentiful and moist. It was seriously a joyous experience placing them into their quart containers for type sorting when they unfurl. Impressive! Thank you to Willard & May for such wonderful specimens. I highly recommend ordering these hosta to any one trying to navigate the plethera of options available on Amazon.

I don't like writing reviews, but I wanted to for this product because I usually benefit from other people's reviews, and also because I was really happy with how fast they were delivered and the product itself was great for the money. I got these bulbs that were ready to be planted. I planted them right away in the shade and they came up in about 2 days. I can see 5 different plants so far and they are growing beautifully. They are already big and healthy and it looks like they are going to be stablished before the harsh New England winter hit us! I recommend these to anyone.

I only received 5 roots and all the hostas seem to be the same. There is no variety. Now I’ll have to find another seller and hope they have a variety as described. They did start to sprout quickly and the 5 re doing well.

Received 6 roots, looking good and healthy. Soaked it in water with sea kelp for an hour and planted in 4" pots. Only thing I'm not sure about is the variety... they all look the same though I have to wait a few weeks to confirm if they really are all same variety. I hope they are 6 different varieties as this is the reason why I bought this, so I'll have 6 different looking hostas. We'll see in a month how these would look like.

Not a good growth for Ohio

Planted them in two separate barrels and all 6 grew. All variegated which add more color and variety imo. They are in full shade. Watered everyday until i saw 4 leaves. Then cut back but keep moist. They even sent extra, which was totally awesome. They are also growing. They are a solid darker green color. All are beautiful imo. Highly recommend.

My order of 6 Hosta roots, arrived much earlier than expected and absolutely beautiful! I received them on Monday, February 9, 2020 and planted them in pots to start, the next day. It’s been 2 1/2 days and I can already see growth with every root! I’m super excited to find out what type of Hosta I received. If I had to change anything with this order it would be that, so that I would have some idea where to put them in the ground but I kind of like the idea of being surprised! I will definitely order from this nursery again!

I've attached pictures showing how I received the plants and progress after a few weeks. I can see I have at least 2 different hostas so far. Won't know for sure until they grow more but they sure are healthy & taking off! I planted them immediately after receiving :) UPDATE: 3 WEEKS LATER .. You can see the growth! I believe 1 was dead on arrival, there's absolutely no growth but leaving in dirt to see if it's been shocked from 3 nights of freeze/frost warning. Don't have pictures for that one & the sixth but even so, 5 for the price is not bad.
