Over the years I have been very disappointed with "bolt together" furniture products. They are usually made with cheap composite wood products that are not very sturdy, sag, chip and are usually inconsistent in color. Often times the back panel is "cardboard". This bookcase was packed beautifully and arrive unscathed. It is very easy to assemble and quality hardware is provided. The color is consistent and it is made with a non-specified hardwood. The VISIBLE surfaces are oak veneer over quality plywood. The back is 6mm Oak veneer plywood NOT CARDBOARD. The color is consistent and the overall finish is excellent. This is an excellent piece of furniture, reasonably priced made with quality materials. I did purchase this on sale. The standard price is still reasonable for the quality provided. Review: Very sturdy and look great!! - Very pleasantly surprised with the quality and appearance of these bookcases. And they were super easy to assemble! Simple instructions with only eight screws. It took about 10 minutes to assemble the first bookcase and five minutes to assemble the second one. Excellent value for the price.

Love the look
I love this book case. I just wish I could get it in a taller size. Love the design, easy to assemble. Great compromise to the expensive ones. (Edit: I've now but 4 of these pieces, the tables are study, my teenager sits on it.... easy to put together, hold a ton of books. The draws are great quality)

Tippy tippy
I own 5 Leick pieces and I keep going back to them because ovarall, good value for money. But not this piece. It is top heavy and very tippy. They know that because there are warnings and a wall mount bracket. The problem is the draw, it's on top and it's the heaviest component. This should have been at the bottom to keep the unit stable. Once loaded with heavy books it's better, but not ideal.
