My go to to change a rusty item back to a item with no rust works great. Honestly it stops rust and also changes a item from surface rust to no rust. You must saturate the item and give it time but it does, in fact, work.

I've used Corrosion X for years both regular formula and heavy duty. My primary use is for corrosion resistance in my engine room and anything electrical on my boat and airplane. I honestly don't think there is a better product made.
