Good Model That Can be Made Better!
An very attractive display piece. The deck fittings/features and general build are quite good; much better than competing models. The wood hull is superbly finished. The negatives? Some areas on the deck/hull were finished in a hurry and do detract a bit from the overall impression. The rigging is white kite string and needs to be weathered or dyed. The ratlines are fairly loose. The sails are well done; but they, too, could be improved with a little effort. All in, a moderately skilled modeller can make this into a great display. Do iron the sails before you put it together to remove the creases made in shipping/packing. Search the box for loose parts.
