Dritz Gold-Eye Big Stitch Quilting Needles, Size 5, 12 Count

These needles have made my quilt tying so much easier! The points are very sharp, the needles do not bend, and they easily penetrate two layers of high quality cotton quilting fabric and cotton batting with a scrim layer. They are not thick tapestry needles but are the perfect thickness for hand sewing…in my case, hand-knotting. My eyesight is not what it used to be, so I am being aided in threading by using a very inexpensive threader; however, the gold tip is much easier to see while threading even with black thread. I will repeat: the eye of the needle is plenty large enough for the fine threader, and a number 8 pearl cotton slides right through. These needles are plenty long enough for my purpose—no hand cramps at all. They are also a great deal for a dozen well-packaged set. I’m also impressed with the capped, glass bottle in which to store. With this many needles of the same size, I can stay tying longer by threading multiple needles between each tying session. Nice strong needles . Good for using thicker sewing threads. I just wish they were sharper for hand quilting.

Love these needles. Strong, sharp and easy to thread thanks to the wonderful big eye. Bought them for thick fabrics and they did not disappoint. Love the container they come in.

These quilting needles are perfect!!! Especially for the longer quilting stitches! The eye is big enough to see, for threading! They are sharp to go through many layers! What a game changer for hand quilting!!! I love them!!!
