16000 BTU Swimming Pool Heat Pump 5000 Gallon Electric Pool Heater for Above Ground Pool 5KW Heating or Cooling WiFi Control Timer Pool Heater 110V 60Hz

I’ve been using this 16000 BTU heat pump for a while now and it’s been working really well. It heats the pool faster than I expected and brings the temperature up pretty quickly. It’s also surprisingly quiet while running, which I really appreciate since it doesn’t add a lot of noise around the house. Compared to my old unit, it seems more energy efficient too, so I’m expecting it to save a bit on electricity over time. The filter quality seems solid as well and it does a good job keeping things clean without needing constant attention. I also found it very easy to use. The controls are straightforward, and once you set it up, it pretty much runs on its own without much hassle. Overall, I’m really happy with it and would recommend it if you’re looking for a reliable pool heater.

Purchased this 58,000 BTU unit (after returning a unit of another Brand) for a 12,000-gal pool. Included plumbing adapters are standard pvc sizes so installation was relatively simple. The control panel is easy to use and hook up to Wi-Fi. North Florida saltwater pool application, installed late February, outside temps starting to climb into the 70's with lows in the 50's. Pool temp went from 68 degrees to 78 degrees in the first overnight 24 hrs and reached 82 by the end of the 2nd day, only daytime heating since. Nice looking unit, sturdy envelope, not too heavy so I was able to position it without assistance. Consistent delta T of 3 degrees when engaged. For a heating unit, I will highly recommend. Waiting on Summer to see how the cooling functions.

Let me start off by saying I am replacing a 9kw electric heater with this heat pump. While it is 220v and pulls 40amps when heating, I do get a significantly higher temperature rise and I am not required to run my pump or heater 24/7 as I can raise the pools temperature by 20 degrees in just a few hours. I installed this heat pump on an 8’ stock tank. This tank is roughly 600gallons (way below rated water capacity for this heat pump). Initially I was unable to get any temperature rise out of the heat pump so I added valves to the inlet and outlet on the heater to throttle water flow and even then I am only able to get a maximum of a 3 degree rise. The data plate states RLA as 7 amps and some change but I am reading 9-10amps. Add this with the 4-6amps of my variable speed pump running 24/7 and I am having a hard time justifying that this is a more comfortable or efficient option.

Replaced another heater which was so much power it ate my solar panels output and then some. Now with the Valpoolfaye, I still generate power while heating the pool, AC in the house running and charging our EV. I even tested the cooling and it was amazing to feel cold water coming into the 88 degree pool. Unit has exceeded my expectations. Went from two 40amp breakers to one and only use 12amps. Pool is 10,000 gal.

Hands down, best upgrade for standard size above ground pools. This unit was incredibly simple to wire into factory plumbing and incredibly easy to use. The 16000 btu unit took my 7k gal pool from well water temp to 80 degrees in less than 2 days (works even better with a solar cover). Customer service is incredible with this company, they respond quickly and provide detailed instructions and realistic solutions to any situation you can throw at them. I highly recommend Varpoolfaye!

​I had a terrible experience with my initial unit, which is why I'm starting with a 4-star rating instead of five. The first unit was extremely inefficient; with an ambient temperature of 75 degrees, this 30,000 BTU unit ran for over 4 hours and only managed to raise my 6,500-gallon pool from a chilly 70 to a slightly less chilly 72 degrees. Worse, the app was defective—I thought I was turning the unit off, but it still ran all night without the fan, causing the coils to completely freeze over. ​However, my view completely changed because of varpoolfaye's fantastic customer service. After contacting them and explaining the issues, they were incredibly responsive and immediately sent me a replacement unit. The new heat pump works exactly as advertised! It heats the pool efficiently, the app works perfectly to power it off completely, and I have had zero issues with freezing coils. ​The replacement unit has been great, but the hassle of dealing with the first defective unit means I can't give a perfect score. If the first unit had worked like this one, it would easily be a five-star product. If you do happen to get a lemon, rest assured their customer service will take care of you.

This is a game changer. Living in Northeast Tennessee, we wanted to extend our pool season, so this purchase turned out to exceed our expectations. Preferring a water temperature around 84 degrees we didn’t know how well this unit would work on a 18’ x 36’ in ground. With the cooler nights the water temp drops to 81 degrees and warms back to our set 84 by noon. The cost to operate is reasonable and varies based on ambient temperature swings but worth the cost by extending our pool season that began March 3. Even while it was snowing we had a warm water pool to enjoy. Installation is easy if you’re a DIY and have a disconnect panel at the pool pump.

If you plan on using the app to control it over WiFi be aware that customer support said its maximum range is only 8ft-10ft. It doesn’t state that anywhere on the specifications or on the Amazon listing which is absolutely a scam if you ask me. Typical devices can reach 30 ft MINIMUM… Very dissatisfied with my purchase, not worth the price at all. I need to provide my own box to return this large unit as well, what an absolute waste of time. Customer service was not helpful at all either, stay clear of this product and company.

This is a great unit when properly matched to the pump and pool size. It seems to be most effective at around 600 GPH, so a bypass system is recommended if your pump flows faster than that. The pool should ideally be under 5,000 gallons (based on my personal experience). Note: A solar cover that completely covers the pool is essential. My pool is just over 5,000 gallons. I needed two of these units connected in parallel with a bypass system. After three days of varying temperatures, the pool has consistently stayed at 86°F. I’m looking forward to testing the “chilling” mode during the next heat wave. The unit draws 7 amps, with a slightly higher surge when the compressor turns on. Running it on an isolated circuit is ideal. Personally, I would not run it on the same circuit as any other appliances. Customer service was great—very quick, responsive, and friendly. I had a few issues during setup and installation, and they went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of. They even proactively offered solutions without me having to ask.

Product is excellent bang for buck, works great and works as expected. Probably the best customer service in existence! A+ Product arrived damaged due to the purolator delivery guy rolling it up my stairs. I sent an email to the seller and received an almost immediate response. They had an exchange on the way faster than they originally estimated due to being out of stock at the time. Thoroughly impressed with the level of service.

Great Product – Excellent Support from the Manufacturer We initially had some issues with our pump and were not very impressed with customer service at first. However, the second time around, the company went above and beyond to help us, and we really appreciate their support. The real problem was with Amazon, but the manufacturer stepped in and handled everything directly. Once resolved, we were reminded why we chose this product in the first place — my sister has the same pump, and hers has worked perfectly from day one. These pumps are amazing, well worth the price, and once they’re back in stock, we’ll absolutely be buying another. We just had a bit of a hiccup, but the company made it right.
