VQ - Laura Ashley 1.7L Dome Kettle - Elveden White

Love this little tea kettle. I read the reviews of boil over so was skeptical but I have not had that happen at all. It is so pretty and works fast. I used to have an old ceramic one that was very heavy but this is light and easy to use. I love that I know what the temperature is for my water.

I was looking for a teakettle and when I saw this I knew it was the one 😊. It’s electric. It has a “hob” that plugs in then you set the kettle on that to heat the water up. The start lever pops up to turn the kettle off automatically when the water comes to a boil. It’s quick to heat, has a small “window” to show the water level as you fill it, has a water temp gauge as well. I like that you can store the hob away and just leave the pretty kettle out on your counter. UPDSTE: I also bought this kettle for my sister for her birthday. She drinks tea every morning and does a French press coffee for her husband. This kettle holds enough water to make her tea and his coffee. She loves it and uses it every day!

So pretty. Giving it to my granddaughter who will be going to college in the fall.

I bought this kettle mainly for the look, it’s a cute, simple dome kettle and looks nice sitting on the counter. I only use it occasionally, not heavily, and it heats water quickly. It usually takes just a couple of minutes to reach the highest temperature. The automatic shutoff is convenient. It also comes with a thermometer, which might be important if you’re particular about the temperatures of your water. For me, I mostly just need hot water, and it does that well. I did notice some marks on the inside bottom after the first use. I saw another review mentioning rust, in my case it seems to be limescale. I soaked it in white vinegar and that helped remove some of it, although not completely. Since then, I leave the lid slightly open after using it so it can dry fully, which seems to help prevent buildup. One small disappointment is the handle and lid. The handle feels very light, I’m not sure if it’s metal or plastic, but it feels flimsy. The lid detail also looks a bit inexpensive. I think I expected slightly better, heavy duty material for the price. Overall, the kettle is beautiful and works as it should, but I don’t think the quality completely matches the price.

I was so excited to receive my teapot. It's beautiful and the temperature dial on the front is a great feature. BUT, the product description says it is stainless steel, and I was very disappointed to find that the lid and handle are made of a very cheap plastic. I'm not sure the lid will last long. Even my Walmart stainless steel tea pot I keep on my stove has a stainless steel lid and a heavy plastic handle. The plastic used on my Laura Ashley teapot is very lightweight and cheap. For the price I paid for this item, I'm a bit disappointed at with the cheap material.
