Pistachios look like they are partially open , and appear like they would open very easily. NOT !!! Takes more than a bit of finger muscles, and can quickly ruin an expensive manicure. This gizmo holds the nut, and the little beak-like thing slips into the partially split shell, then, with a quick press of a thumb, the shell splits open in the blink of an eye, and the nut itself is not damaged. I am truly impressed !
