Great little synth with semi modular capabilities
I wasn’t expecting much from this little synth but it’s surpassed my expectations. It comes in really cool retro packaging which doubles up as useful storage and the sound is basic a monosynth but the delay and vibrato and octave button adds some flavour. Put it though some effects and it comes alive. What has amazed me is its patching capabilities with cv in and out via small jumper cables and croc clips meaning it can be sequenced and accept LFO from a modular synth -it works great with Bastl effects wizard and a Korg sq-1 It can also send cv to modular synths and has 24 patch points A bargain for synth enthusiasts who are looking to push its boundaries Great value at £34

Pocket size fun
Don't expect a Korg Monologue, but this is a fun little mono synth that pairs well with other pocket size gear (think NTS-1, Pocket Operators, and so forth). Plenty of scope for electric tomfoolery

Fantastic features for little money!
Love the retro cassette styling of the Stylosette, nicely packaged(although one of the plastic cassette boxes was slightly damaged upon delivery). For those that are saying this is a copy of the other cassette synth there have already been a few similar synth cassettes out for a number of years! The build quality of the unit is very good although the rotary potentiometers all seem to have no solder holding them in place underneath the main body. I'm guessing this has either been overlooked at production or they may have been difficult to solder due to their positioning?? The speaker volume is very good. The addition of the pt2399 delay on board is a nice touch for the small price tag! The included crocodile clips for attaching to things to play is really cool! And having all the CV and LFO options available on the header is neat! I have already rigged it up to my SQ sequencer for some fun, and I'm looking forward to possibly adding something to the Stylosette to make it easier for me to connect it to the modular! Well done Dubreq!

A novelty
This is presented in a great retro way, with everything you need - even batteries- enclosed in old school cassette tape boxes. I do think that it is more of a science experiment rather than a genuine musical instrument though. Yes, it is a novel idea, and it is pretty cool to be able to get sounds out of various everyday objects, but, if you wanted to experiment with music, there are many ways to do it. Back in the late 60's when the original Stylophone was king, there were no music computer programmes, or synthesisers, outside recording studios. Now, the world is your musical oyster. That said, the unit seems well made, and the instructions seem clear enough, if you have a basic understanding of the premise. Not too good if you are heavy handed though. A good novelty product, but that is all .

Synth tascabile entry level

Very fun and made a great gift. Definitely would recommend watching YouTube videos of creators using the Stylophone Stylosette to get the hang of it.
