ASCOT Electric Kettle, Glass Electric Tea Kettle for Men/Women/Family 1.5L 1500W Borosilicate Glass Tea Heater, with Auto Shut-Off and Boil-Dry Protection (Beige)

UPDATED REVIEW ON 8/18/2025 (purchased kettle on 05/05/2024, so have had Ascot glass kettle for 1 year 3 months). We love this glass kettle still BUT the metal base inside now has a clear rust spot. I tried instructions to boil water/vinegar mixture (equal parts) and then let sit. The rust spot is still there no matter and cannot be scrubbed away. We are being very careful to not leave any water sitting in the kettle but are very disappointed and do not feel comfortable to keep using this kettle with a rust spot clearly showing - we cannot be sure that now that the stainless steel bottom inside base has been breached that nasty metals might be leaching into our boiling water because of this. I'm placing this review and getting ready to contact Ascot via their website and may update after. We had gone through SO many glass tea kettles trying to avoid heavy metals/plastic, etc., and THIS was the one recommended by a website I follow and trust (Mamavation). It was pricier than the ones we have gone through over the years but we felt it was worth it. Having to buy a new one every 1.5 years of even the no plastic/no lead/etc. is very disheartening. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We've had this kettle for about 4 months now after having had so many glass/no plastic electric kettles fail on us after less than a year or two. This one was recommended by someone I follow stating it was lead-free. We use it several times daily for hot water for coffee but since April, it's getting almost double daily use making hot water to make sugar water nectar for the hummingbirds. You have to remember to NEVER grab the lid without a pot holder, as the ring on the top is super hot. Otherwise, it's the most attractive glass tea kettle we've had yet - it works fast enough for our purposes, and we really hope it holds up to our regular usage. One other note would be that the spout is all glass - you do have to be careful to not bang/bump it onto anything hard!

Love this kettle! We were looking for a kettle that’s lead free, boils quickly, and looks nice. This ticks all the boxes! Plus, it’s fun watching the water boil in the kettle when it’s ready 😆

I bought this because I was told it’s lead free. Just opened it, filled it, and turned it on. It never turned off. The auto off doesn’t work. It just kept boiling the water until I manually flipped the switch. Seems dangerous. Also today reading reviews about rust developing inside -excuse me? Too bad. Really should be a better product for the price.

I bough this Kettle in 2024 when I saw that it had third party testing to be lead free. I had another kettle at the time that was working well so we didn't start using this kettle until the Hollidays in 2025. I have been using it daily for about 4 months and noticed that it has started to rust in the bottom. There are 6 rust spots! Im so disappointed. I was hoping this was finally the perfect safe kettle. Other that that it looks nice and works well. But continuing to use a rusty kettle is not an option. Does anyone know of one that is lead free AND rust free?

This electric kettle is objectively beautiful. I love the unique transparent dome design showcasing the boiling water. Water splashing about inside the glass cloche is mesmerizing to watch when the kettle working its magic. The handle is sturdy and well built. This is another place such design stands out because many of the modern designs choose to combine the steam tube in the ugly plastic handle assembly to save cost. This one says no to the compromise and built it where it belongs the old way. The base were made of metal sleeved plastic, it was thick enough so residual heat does not burn your hand when supporting the kettle weight from the bottom. Of course, there were compromises, one cost cutting compromise I observed was that they did not use the leading Strix controller for its overheating control. Even-though the Sunlight brand controller seems to do a decent job so far, I felt they could use a named brand where normal people would overlook. To nitpick their design, the kettle lid could use additional improvement (other than the hot metal nob issue they already fixed) by using silicon washer instead of metal clip to seal the body. Another temporary problem for new unit is that the silicone seals and filters were not degassed, so first few brew had a bit of plastic smell. While this is the case for many electric kettles using plastic housings, it should not be the case for a design that the body is mostly metal/glass/silicone, they could have baked or vacuumed the body before assemble with the electronics to remove the smell. On the quest searching for the most unique electric kettle among the affordables, this one definitely had my attention. Until Amazon algorithm decided to tempt me with another beauty, I shall sit back and enjoy my fresh cup of tea.

The kettle is very stylish, the glass jar, round spout, spout filter are all the pros. Everything we liked in this kettle and we enjoyed having this in our kitchen for the past 6 months. But unfortunately it has stopped working recently. We contacted the seller and conveyed the issue. The customer service provided by the seller was amazing and they shipped us the replacement as the product has 12 months quality assurance. We are extremely happy by the service provided and looking forward eagerly for the replacement.

I have researched and purchased many electric kettles and this is the one. It is hands-down the best electric kettle I have every owned. As an avid tea drinker, I needed an electric kettle to easily keep the tea flowing. I wanted a kettle that was non-toxic. I did not want plastic, even BPA free plastic in contact with the water. This kettle fit that requirement. Water only touches glass and the lid is stainless steel. I also wanted a kettle that really boiled the water. As this kettle is glass, I can easily see that it boils fully to ensure a proper cup of tea. Finally, I wanted a kettle that was attractive. This kettle is beautiful. Whenever a person enters the kitchen, she will inevitably say, "What a pretty kettle and I love that you can see the water boil." As a person who has purchased many kettles and has had kettle dissatisfaction for a long time, I am finally in kettle nirvana. This is the one. Buy this kettle. It is what you have been looking for. Escribi a Ascot a pedir el reemplazo gratis que promteten pero como esta importado el articulo desde EU, escribir a la pagina en EU. Me dice que tengo que escribir via amazon mx. Me pueden ayudar?
