I purchased this chair mat to protect my hardwood floors under my desk, and it worked well for that purpose. It lays flat and has a sticky backing underneath that keeps it from sliding around while my office chair is on top of it. That feature was especially helpful since I didn’t want the mat constantly shifting. Unfortunately, it only lasted a few days in my home because my dog decided one of the corners looked like a chew toy. Once she got to it, the corner was damaged fairly quickly. I don’t believe this is a flaw in the product itself — it just wasn’t designed to withstand enthusiastic puppy teeth. If you don’t have pets that chew, I would recommend it for protecting hardwood floors and keeping your chair stable. Just keep it out of reach of curious dogs. Recommendation: Yes — for homes without chewers.

For the price, I wasn't expecting tip-top quality. But it does do the job and it's pretty much all I needed. Cuts easily to fit. I will say I agree with several other reviews that it is slightly under size, 47x35, not 48x36. Also, it positively MUST be ironed prior to laying in place. Before removing the protective film, I placed it on top of an area rug with a cotton cloth on top of that to protect the polyester fiber from melting and used a steam iron on a lower setting, just enough to make steam. Very pleased overall. Just not a five star product.

A little difficult to install solo but I got the job done. It is sticky on one side, hope it doesn't ruin the floor underneath when I remove it. Easy to cut to fit

The mat shows creases that have not disappeared after using for some time.
