This bird house is great but only if one is good at figuring things out on their own. The instructions are vague. And some images don’t represent what was in the box. Paints are not great. Also the house needs primed which is not included. The paint pots in my kit were all dry.

I am extremely happy with this DIY Bird House Kit! From the moment I opened the box, I was impressed by the quality of the materials. The natural cedar wood smells amazing—fresh, earthy, and unmistakably high quality. It immediately gave me the sense that this kit was built to last and would withstand the elements once assembled. The pieces were well-cut, smooth, and fit together perfectly. It was very satisfying to work with the wood—it felt sturdy and premium, not flimsy at all. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, making the assembly process enjoyable rather than frustrating. Once built, the birdhouse looks fantastic—simple, classic, and elegant. Very vague instructions. Pieces are not numbered or lettered or identified by dimensions. Major pieces are easily identified by design but similar size pieces are not. Might be frustrating for a child. Nails are extremely small. I prefer the kits that get screwed together. Otherwise good quality and fun to build.

Our grandkids had a good time putting this kit easily together. It seems to be made of quality aromatic cedar, with holes predrilled for the nails. I added a few strategic reinforcements to insure it is sturdy. A worthwhile and educational project.

This was such an enjoyable project once I figured out the pieces. The trickiest part for me was the roof since there were no predrilled holes on the roof itself, just in the roofing pieces. But I figured out where to put the glue and how to nail them down. I do have some concern that the glued on decorative pieces won't stick when the house goes outside in the weather. It seems to be just school glue (think Elmer's). I may end up taking them off and just sticking with the basic house. The paints that come with the project are small pots and meant just to decorate with. You have to get your own base color if you plan to paint the house.
