This brand got a great review after being among 22 tested [you tube vid] and is a great value. I was taking the usual eye supplements for dry eyes. They did not work at all, but when I added this high dose astaxanthin, it was noticeably better within just a few days and ongoing. It's also a great and safe supplement for many other conditions, such as skin health, so it's a no-brainer and I will not be without it. I don't believe high mg astaxanthin is needed for everyone, but for those with dry eye, I do think the higher 12 mg works well.

Originally, they had an option for 300 capsules, unfortunately they discontinued that option. I have taken BioAstin previously and was amazed that I could spend a day in full sun with no sunblock and not get sunburn. This product is the same as the more expensive name brand, which both are excellent quality. I also have noticed less joint pain when I take this on a regular basis. I have never experienced any side effects from taking this, even on an empty stomach. I can't speak of any energy boost, but perhaps I just didn't pay attention. I would highly recommend this as part of your daily supplement regiment, specially if you're in the sun a lot and don't want to put chemicals on your skin to protect against sunburn. I do have light brown skin, so if you are fair skinned, I would say maybe take 2 in one day if you're going to the beach or going to be in the sun all day.

It's always difficult to review a supplement like this as the results are generally not immediately noticeable. That said, I have no reason to believe this is anything but the indicated product, delivering the healthy benefits one would want from astaxanthin. There's no weird aftertaste and the softgels are easy to swallow. I usually take it shortly before bedtime, and I believe it does help me fall asleep more soundly.
