Happy Camper
I got a new RV, the lights are way to bright and harsh. I looked up the lights and they did not say dimable so I guessed I would be replacing the lights as well. Alas I I installed this, it works great and I did not have to replace my LED RV lights. That makes me a very happy RV camper.

Works great if you don't exceed the Amperage
Review: Acegoo 12V Dimmer Switch Aluminum RV Light Dimmer High-Side PWM Dimmer Overview The Acegoo 12V Dimmer Switch is a sleek and efficient dimming solution designed specifically for 12V LED light fixtures in camper vans, boats, trailers, trucks, and cars. Its aluminum construction not only adds a touch of durability but also helps in heat dissipation, making it a reliable addition to any vehicle's lighting system. The rotary dimming feature provides smooth and precise control over the brightness of your LED lights, enhancing the ambiance and functionality of your space. Installation One of the standout features of this dimmer switch is its ease of installation. The process is straightforward and can be completed by most DIY enthusiasts without the need for professional help. The user manual provided with the product is clear and concise, guiding you through each step. The compact design and the included mounting hardware make it easy to find a suitable location for installation, whether it's under a dashboard, in a storage compartment, or any other convenient spot. Performance The dimmer switch operates flawlessly within its specified capacity. It uses high-side PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology, which ensures a smooth and consistent dimming effect without flickering. The rotary knob is easy to use and allows for fine-tuning of the light intensity, making it perfect for creating the desired mood in your vehicle. Capacity and Overload Considerations While the 6A maximum capacity of the dimmer switch might seem generous, it's important to note that LED strip lights can quickly approach this limit. For instance, a 5-meter strand of 5050 SMD LED lights can draw up to 4A, which is already a significant portion of the dimmer's capacity. Therefore, it's crucial to measure the power consumption of your LED lights before installation. Using a watt meter ( less than $25) to determine the current draw of your lights is highly recommended. The formula to calculate the maximum wattage is simple: 6A * 12V = 76.8W. If your total LED light setup exceeds this, you risk damaging the dimmer switch. Build Quality The build quality of the Acegoo 12V Dimmer Switch is impressive. The aluminum casing not only gives it a robust and modern look but also helps in maintaining optimal operating temperatures, which is crucial for the longevity of the device. The rotary knob is well-made and provides a satisfying tactile feedback, making it easy to adjust the light levels even in low-light conditions. Final Thoughts Overall, the Acegoo 12V Dimmer Switch is a high-quality and effective solution for controlling 12V LED lights in various vehicles. Its ease of installation, smooth dimming performance, and durable construction make it a worthwhile investment. However, it's essential to monitor the power consumption of your LED lights to avoid overloading the switch. If you stay within the 6A limit, this dimmer switch will serve you well and enhance your vehicle's lighting setup. Rating: 4.5/5 Would I buy this again? Absolutely. The Acegoo 12V Dimmer Switch is a reliable and user-friendly product that meets its intended purpose perfectly, as long as you adhere to its capacity limits.

Defective after 24 hours
Bought the 6A Rotary version. Wired them up and they worked as expected. However after 24 hours of not even being used, one stopped working past the dimmest setting. Additionally, the both stayed warm even when shut off completely. Not sure why they were defective but I'll be looking for alternatives to these because the dimming functionality in a camper is very nice.

Dimming feature doesn't work- defective?
This dimmer switch is definitely well built and sturdy, but we must have gotten a defective switch. There is no option to contact the seller on amazon or return it as it's past it's date. We are doing an RV build and finally putting it in over a month after buying. The dimmer switch will turn the lights on and off but the dimming feature does not work at all for us. We bought the dimmable puck lights from the same brand that seem to be good quality. We even took it down and rewired it again following their instructions each time but the dimming feature does not work.

Gets warm but seems OK so far.
Installed easily as I had a ground in the panel where I was installing the switch. I had hoped to use without the aluminum cover plate in a plastic monitor panel but after install I felt the switch was getting too warm. So I moved to a location that allowed me to use the faceplate but isnโt as convenient a location. Iโm only loading this 6amp version with 3.1 amps so I was surprised how warm the switch gets. The lights however dim well. As others noted this switch makes the lights flicker a little as you are adjusting the knob but they do not flicker otherwise.

Works and dial is smooth enough, but not load regulated
This can vary the output voltage from 6V - 13V on a 13V DC supply or battery as the source with no load. If you give it 24V input then you can go up to those levels. Oddly, it doesn't seem to regulated the output voltage and is greatly affected by a load. For example, when set to 10V DC output if you add a 4 ohm load (which would be a 2.5A load) the output drops way down to 6V and is no longer at 10V DC. However, you could manually force it back into range by compensating with the dial but it's odd that it doesn't try to regulate at all. This won't really work for what I was trying to do since the output voltage doesn't seem to run proportional with the dial position. It's affected by load as much as dial position in a simply resistive circuit. On the plus side, I didn't push it up to the max listed of 6A but it handles a 3Amp load at 12V and didn't generate much heat in doing so.

Works good
Hubby installed this in our new RV to dim the super bright overhead lights. I like this option much better than manually tuning off individual lights. I'm vertically challenged and have trouble reaching them. This works great for me.

adjusts voltage for all the things. not just lights. does it well
Dims as it should. Decent range. Super easy to hook up. Switch feels nice. Looks and feels well-made. Size accurate tj specified measurements. If dimming is what you need to do, this will do your dimming. Or, more specifically, adjust voltage. Great for things other than lights
