Yes, they can be washed, they are a metal mesh with a cotton like material. I'm sure a kn cleaning kit would work well on them.

Simple idea that's better than OEM.

These are a great idea on the BMW E90's, my car came to me missing all the Engine Cowls and pieces for the Cabin Air Box, and these WERE a temporary solution that ended up being permanent. No issues at all.

Good simple upgrade

For anyone that works on their BMW this is a must have. Removes the unnecessary cabin filter and makes cowl removal so much simpler. Fit great in my 128i and should fit into any other e90
