I tried a smoked Manhattan for the first time at a steakhouse a few weeks ago and I've been obsessed with it ever since. I purchased this on a whim a couple weeks ago on the off chance I could successfully make it at home and I'm impressed! It's surprisingly simple to use and the end result is surprisingly good. Very happy with purchase and definitely recommend.

Got this for the guys when we do our poker and cigar night. Really enjoy the different flavors the smoke adds. Adding old fashions to the night makes it better. Easy instructions to follow.

Good starter kit for smoking spirits. This is a good starter kit for adding smoke to your favorite spirits right before serving. LIKES: Comes with user manual to demystify the process. Includes a torch (but it comes empty, you must have a can of lighter butane), a tiny spoon to scoop out the wood chips, a cleaning brush, and two mesh strainers to hold the wood chips. The smoker is made of wood and comes with a lid. Kit includes six different wood chips: oak, pear wood, apple wood, pecan wood, cherry wood, and beech wood. Easy to clean. Comes in a nice black cardboard box that would look fine for gifting. ON THE FENCE: The quality of the finish is hit and miss. Mine came with a hole on the smoker that was unfinished and blocked. It wasn’t a big deal to run a blade around it and clear it out, but that’s a quality control issue. DISLIKES: The logo “Flybeast” is huge and super prominent on the lid of the smoker and on the handle of the torch. It doesn’t affect function but I don’t care much for how it looks. The flame control switch on mine seems to be stuck, but I get a decent flame so it’s not affecting how it performs at this time. The flame will linger for a quick split second even after you release the trigger on the torch. VERDICT: Just have a can of lighter butane to charge the torch out of the box and you can be smoking your favorite spirit in no time. It’s a good way to upgrade the drinking experience. The kit includes six different types of wood chips, so there's plenty of room for experimenting. For those un-initiated and who might be wondering: the smoke effect is for only the nose, not the tongue. It just makes the glass smell smoky when you hold your glass to your nose upon drinking; it does not alter the taste/flavor of the spirit, at least not in the short time the smoke hovers over the drink.

Great product, lots of variety of wood flavor. Make sure to buy lighter fluid for torch ahead of time.

I ordered the kit for father's day and the torch doesn't work at all. Waste of money.

Ordered as bday present. After adding plenty of butane to the torch, it did not work. Could see a tiny spark, but would not ignite. Husband had to take it apart to fix and put it back together wasting some of the butane. He did use it afterwards and it did then work as expected. Just unfortunate that it took additional time to get it to function properly.
