Paired with 270 AH Lithium Batteries
Yes - It does deliver as advertised - a full 3000 Watts. Connected a 8000 BTU air conditioner to see if it would handle an inductive load. Yes - with no problem. Window AC pulls 1200 WATTS - added a 1500 W cube heater with no problem Also has a built in ATS. Switch over to inverter power from mains power during power fail is ~20 mS Highly recommend this inverter.

Defective and used
Item was defective. Thought I wired something wrong so tore it all apart and verified everything was correct. When connecting the final wire it had a dead short and caused my lithium battery bank to go into sleep mode. When boxing it back up to return I noticed a packing slip on the side of the box that was covered up. Turns out this item had already been returned back in December. Way to go Amazon, shipping out returned items that were defective. Hoping the replacement is actually new

Awesome upgrade over my factory 1000w inverter for my Class B Van.
Extremely happy with the upgrade from my factory 1000w inverter. Does what I need it too, Pass through/Transfer switch is amazing and works flawlessly and extremely efficient, in fact more efficient then what I had before. Couldn't be more happier.

Works well, except for one very annoying feature - Very loud fans run every 30 min in bypass mode
This inverter does just about everything I hoped it would. It has an automatic bypass that switches from grid power to battery automatically if grid power is available (if you have the model that says it does), and it also has a remote control function. Some reviewers and Q&A claimed that there is no ATS, or that it's not automatic. I can confirm that the one I got does have an ATS, and it switches automatically, using grid power when available, and switching to battery when not, all by itself. There is one "feature" that really bugs me though, and that is the fans come on every 30 minutes while its in by bypass (grid power) mode, and they stay on for 10-20 or so seconds. When this happens, the fans spin at full speed, which is very loud. So do NOT expect to be able to have this anywhere near where you are sleeping. It seems like a poor design for the fan to come on like this as none of the power electronics inside should be generating this much heat while on grid power. And for residual heat, the fans wouldn't need to spin at 100% producing this much noise. And the most ridiculous part of all - this only happens in bypass mode. When you are running off battery power at low power levels, the fans never come on, even though MORE heat would be expected to be produced when the inverter is actually working. This is a terrible design and I wish this "feature" could be disabled...

Stopped Working After a Few Months โ No Warranty Resolution
I purchased a Renogy 3000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter (Model: RIV1230PU-126) on September 7, 2025, and my experience has been extremely disappointing. The inverter stopped working suddenly after normal use. The last time it was used, it was powering a heat gun and worked perfectly fine. A few days later, when I tried to turn it on again, the inverter was completely dead โ no lights, no fan, no sound, nothing. I verified the battery voltage (12โ13V at the inverter terminals), checked all connections, and followed every troubleshooting step requested by Renogy support. I even provided additional details and testing results to help them diagnose the issue. Instead of providing a clear warranty solution, support kept asking the same basic questions over and over again. After several days of communication and cooperation from my side, the support case was simply closed without any real resolution. This inverter was installed correctly with a 12V lithium battery with a 200A BMS and heavy-gauge cables, exactly as recommended. There were no overloads, no misuse, and no visible damage. The unit just failed. For a product in this price range and from a company with Renogyโs reputation, this level of reliability and customer support is unacceptable. A power inverter should not fail this quickly under normal conditions, and customers should not have to fight to receive basic warranty support. Very frustrating experience.

Perfect for RV power
This inverter is perfect for my off-grid RV setup. The ATS is fast (20ms) and switching from shore/generator to battery power is truly seamless. The challenge for me was avoiding an electrical loop. If I charge batteries from the AC to DC converter (built into the AC breaker panel) then there would be a problem as the batteries are sending power to the inverter which is sending AC to the converter, which is sending DC back to the batteries (bad). So to solve this I moved the AC to DC converter to the circuit BEFORE the AC input to the inverter (added junction box and breaker). This way, the only time that AC is providing power to the DC converter is when on shore power (or generator). All is working flawlessly and automatically. Note: I appreciate the technical support from Renogy and have updated them with my solution for this safety issue.

Great and powerful inverter worth the money
Going to return when I go to use my microwave the surge trips I thought it would be enough power but I seen some other reviews about the power issue. And I have the right cables hooked up that they recommend.
