I've never used gesso before. What coverage can I get from a pot this size? I need to cover approx 1.5m sq. Will this be enough or do I need 2 pots?

I do not think the small one of 118 mls x 2 is enough - I would get the large pot of the 900 + mls as you can always use it for something else - Roni

Can i use this to alter acylic tiles. I.e Dominos at all?

If by alter you mean repainting in to say the dots that are recessed I think this would be stable enough to be a primer for the job. But across the face of a surface that’s receiving wear and tear or being handled a lot it won’t last very long. Also it won’t adhere as well on plastic surfaces but wooden, cloth and paper surfaces would be far more long lasting.

Can it be thinned and if so, what with?

I am not sure I use it straight out of the bottle and don't thin it.

Can gesso be sanded to make is less gritty and smoother? I often use pencil over paint for final details.

yes I do it all the time. I use the finest wet and dry paper
