I ordered this set for my smoking gun to be used specifically with peach and pineapple drinks, along with an old fashioned. The concept is good. I am giving the glasses 5 stars for now as they are functioning properly. I have 3 concerns but not deducting any stars as they are just concerns right now; • First is the internal straw “holder”. The description indicates the glasses and straws are made of borosilicate glass, so they should be a little stronger. When I was washing the glass, I was careful around the internal straw holder but with how thin it is, I fear it may not hold out that long. • Next is the seal on the bottom. The concern isn’t as much the seal itself as it is the concept. Liquids will use gravity to find their way out. This concept uses the glass and its weight, along with the mass of the drink to sit on top of a rubber seal. How well this stays sealed, well, time will tell. • Last is the actual seal. The description notes the “plug” as rubber. Why the manufacturer chose rubber instead of silicone is beyond me. Rubber could break down over time, silicone will not. As long as the glasses hold, I’m good. If anything starts failing prematurely, I will update the review.

These are gorgeous, very unique-looking glasses, but I did take off a star just because they are so delicate. Just basic handling and washing make me very nervous about breaking them. The glass doesn't appear to be very thick. The opening does make it easy to get smoke into the cocktail, which looks great for the presentation, and helps add to the flavor. The smaller opening also keeps the smoke in the glass. It functions well for smoked cocktails. Good size for cocktails. Value is there just because they are so unique looking. Great for a gift or for yourself. Guarantee the person youre buying these for does not own them.

Works quiete well and is exactly as photographed/described

I ordered these because I love making smoked old fashioned cocktails. I have tried to make them work but so far I am unimpressed. Anytime I have ordered or made an old fashioned it has contained one large ice cube. I tried fitting my sphere, square, and hexagon ice cubes into this glass and none of them will work because of the glass stem in the glass. After I determined I could not use the appropriate cube I continued to try to make drinks with these glasses. I should have taken it as a sign to stop. I tried smoking the drink and then putting the plug in the drink. This did not result in enough smoke in the glass to really do much for the flavor of the drink. After that I tried putting the plug in the drink and turning it so the glass stem was down and the smoke would rise into the glass through the place the straw is meant to go. Physics won and this also failed to add any real amount of flavor to the drink. I made the mistake of setting this glass down on my computer and it leaked all over. Despite my best effort these did not work well for making a smoked old fashioned. I am going to give these one last try before they go in the trash.
