Splits wood like hickey and maple like butter.
Awesome axe heads... the profile is perfect for splitting.. not worth the 200 for the axe though. I ordered two, and both axes came loose on the head..!!. Had to add wedges to both axes..on the first use. Other then that beautiful tools

Middle of the road. Win some lose some
Axe head is great. Needs a fresh stoning when you get it but good axe head. The handle however broke in less than 30 minutes. Shame, had to replace with a stouter hickory handle but was splitting 8m sitting water oak logs and the handle cracked . Otherwise good weight for splitting/chopping/felling

Beast of an AXE
The axe is well made and holds up agains brutal splitting. Oak and especially pecan. I had an issue with the sheath but customer service has been great getting a new one.

Beautiful Axe But Handle Broke
This is a beautiful axe. I was exited to get it & put it to work & compare it to my Husqvarna, Fishers, & Husky. This axe splits great, feels good in my hands, & very good weight for splitting. On the fourth day of use, after about three & a half hours of use the handle split. So I received it on a Friday & it broke on a Monday. So I'm extremely disappointed. It didn't split by hitting the handle but a solid hit with the axe bit (head) into the log, see pics. I've been splitting for seventeen years without any mishaps or breaks, so I'm very disappointed. I would have given it a 5 but now a 2, & not sure if I'd buy it again. Follow Up 4/28/25 I received a reply from the seller & they were very willing to resolve the broken handle issue. Unfortunately I had already returned the axe & handle to Amazon, due to the difficulty I had trying to contact the seller thru Amazon. In addition the seller had to wait to contact me due to some logistics with Amazon. Amazon refunded me very quickly. I had already arranged to purchase another axe from Tuatahi. But I will increase their star from a 2 to a 3 because of their customer service. I still like the axe bit & it's sharpness, & function. It's a great price for a multi-function racing axe.

Low quality race axe, display only
Quality is not great, axe arrives Dull. Leather cover for blade is of very low quality.

Axe broke.
I loved this ax for a couple weeks. But the handle started coming loose, which made the back end of the axe split open. I don't know how to fix this, but I do love the esthetics and ability of the axe to split wood. Just wish the back of it didn't split.

Excellent addition
Beautiful craftsmanship, looks more of a show piece than a tool! But is an absolute beast! Good handle build, both finish and texture Axe head is crafted beautifully, sculpted from the earth by Dwarven 🔥 fires Is heavier than it looks

Good steel but bit is too thick and hang angle is poor.
The axe head is made of good steel, however there are two issues. First, the bit is too thick, and the primary angle is too high, at about 30 degrees. Racing axes are typically 15 - 20 degrees, and considerable re-profiling is required to produce the desired angle. Second, the angle of the bit relative to the angle of the handle is poor, and you'll probably want to either rehang or regrind the head in such a way as to change the angle. There is a lot of potential in this axe but consider it a kit that is not ready as it comes from the factory.
