I’ve used various smart displays over the years, but the Echo Show 15 is on a completely different level. The first thing that stands out is the size of the screen – it’s large enough to be genuinely useful rather than just a glorified clock. I’ve mounted mine under a kitchen cabinet and it fits perfectly, making excellent use of what would otherwise be wasted space. The range of widgets available is impressive and allows you to customise the display exactly how you want it. Whether it’s calendars, reminders, weather, shopping lists or smart home controls, everything is easy to see at a glance. Entertainment options are excellent too. All the major apps you’d expect are available, including Netflix and Apple TV, and having access to live TV is a real bonus when cooking or spending time in the kitchen. Sound quality is surprisingly good for a device of this type, with clear vocals and enough volume to comfortably fill the room. It also links seamlessly to your preferred music streaming service, making it ideal for listening to playlists, podcasts or radio stations throughout the day. Where the Echo Show 15 really shines is as a smart home control centre. I’ve connected it to my Ring devices and several other cameras around the house, and being able to view all of them from one screen is incredibly convenient. I can honestly say this is the best Echo device I’ve ever owned — and I already have several Echos at home. The Echo Show 21 is absolutely impressive. The sound quality is excellent, loud and clear, and the image is sharp and vibrant. It genuinely feels premium. I was originally thinking of getting a smart TV for my kitchen, but I decided to go for the Echo Show 21 instead, and I don’t regret that decision at all. It does everything I wanted and more, while also being a fantastic smart hub for the home. The installation was very easy and straightforward. I read a lot of reviews before buying it, and I’m really glad I trusted them — they were spot on. I love how well everything syncs. I can connect my Apple Calendar without any issues, access my shopping lists and to-do lists instantly, and listen to Spotify effortlessly. The number of widgets available is great, and they make everyday tasks so much more convenient. It’s become a central part of my daily routine. Overall, this device has exceeded my expectations. Easy to set up but expensive bit anoying when you have to buy the stand as they are also expensive. But a good product.

I have been reading all the reviews for ages regarding Echo 15 & 21 and during prime I took the plunge on the 15 (still expensive) but I am extremely pleased with it, this is the best Echo I have purchased. I already have a Bluetooth speaker I use with other echo’s and thought I would need it with the 15 but found the speakers to be ok and the volume is amazing. Don’t get me wrong I will still use my Bluetooth speakers with it but I’m also happy cleaning and singing along without them. I have quick access to all my Ring Cameras through the touchscreen or can use voice commands, great that there’s now options. Alexa talks differently now, getting smarter and finally has a sense of humour (well in my house she does) Absolutely amazing & my new favourite expensive toy.

So, my wife and I returned this almost straight away. I am truly staggered how this item has such high reviews. It has several MASSIVE DOWNSIDES apparent within minutes that other reviewers are somehow not mentioning: 1. The biggie for us. NO AMAZON MUSIC APP! That's right, you can drop a small fortune on one of these and you can't even play your normal Amazon Music playlists on this device, despite them both being from the same company! Instead, you have a super stripped back version of the app, where you can only play 'recent songs' or 'recommendations'. That's it. You have no access to playlists and the only way around it is to link it through your phone and then play it via your phone...defeating the whole point of a wall mounted touchscreen! (you may as well get a better-sounding speaker at that point). The typical Amazon Music app you use on your phone or PC?...yeah, that's incompatible with this device somehow (see attached image). What. A. Joke! I totally assumed this would be a stock inclusion, but no. 2. Surprisingly sluggish performance: No joke, even with the most recent update downloaded, and with no extra apps installed, this thing operates like a drunk snail. Constant lag, glitches and pauses when opening apps or menus. Far worse than my five year old Samsung tablet somehow. 3. Disastrous user interface: Compared to Apple or Android devices, this is a nightmare. Not only is it painfully slow, but the interface feels like it's been designed by an 'Enigma' cryptographer. The placement and organisation of apps is confusing. Random pointless 'widgets' are scattered everywhere. Simply going 'back' relies on the remote most of the time, as do most functions on this device, defeating the point of the touch screen to begin with. As a couple of others have said, you may as well just buy a smart TV, it would be cheaper and would actually be compatible with more than 5 apps! 4. SHOVELWARE: the app store is a chore to browse as it's now chocked full of AI generated slop, primarily targeting children. This makes any apps really tricky to find as there is NO SEARCH FUNCTION. Let me repeat that, YOU CAN'T EVEN SEARCH FOR APPS! You just have to browse by category and 'hope' to find them 🤦 what a disgrace; to lack such basic functionality would have been unacceptable in 2006, let alone 2026! 5. POP UP ADS: Now, we didn't even get to this stage before I filed a return (because of the above), however, you will eventually get spammed with full screen Amazon ads with this device apparently. The device does have some strengths like the screen brightness (good enough), the speakers (also definitely good enough) and the touch screen itself felt more than responsive when typing, but the above points completely ruined it for me and will surely be a huge put off for 99% of you considering this device. I wonder if people are giving this positive reviews as some sort of post-purchase rationalisation, to try and convince themselves it was worth it. I feel completely missold on the purpose of this product. The fact it runs a choked-out version of TV software, but is essentially a worse smart TV in every way makes it either an expensive, bad, tiny smart TV, or a feature-anaemic, expensive clock/weather station. It does each of those things poorly in my opinion and is effectively pointless. So surprised that this has such high reviews and I expected MUCH better from Amazon. I'll be getting a Lenovo tab instead and wall mounting that.
