Hedgehog going in and out already

Construction is ok, I stuck a rubber mat on the bottom for better insulation and to keep the base off the ground. The roof has some felt on it but that’s not enough to keep the edges from suffering a lot of water penetration. That should have been better sealed. I guess I can easily enough make a new roof, but having been only outside so far from early April to late June there is no doubt one of these wouldn’t survive more than 1 season outdoors. Not sure it would be adequate shelter in winter. No hedgehog chose ours last winter. Will be looking for something more durable come autumn.

We bought the hedgehog house which was really easy to put together and only took 10 minutes. I had my doubts if this would stand up to the British winter with it only being made of thin wood but it has lasted really well through its first winter in which we have had a bit of all weathers including snow. The only thing that affected the house was the wind as it blew the roof off so I put a rock on top of it to keep it on firm. I did not put the hedgehogs food and water in the house as I read that it can encourage other animals to come too so i put the food and water to the side of the house. I put a good amount of hay in there to use for nesting and to keep them warm. I think it is a good size for the money that we paid for it, I wasn’t expecting it to be the best quality for the price we paid but I’m more than happy with it and would buy it again and would recommend it to others.

Très jolie ! Facile à monter, mais mettre de l'huile de lin pour la protéger. Ouverture un peu juste.

Casetta molto graziosa, dimensioni dell'ingresso corrette; se fosse stata leggermente più alta e internamente spaziosa, sarebbe stata perfetta. La resistenza all'umidità mi sembra molto buona, anche se sono stata attenta a ripararla bene dalla pioggia diretta. Ho verificato per certo che è stata temporaneamente abitata: ottimo!

Tres bien, facole a monter. Mais je n ai encore pas vu de herissons venir dedans...
