X99 Dual CPU Motherboard LGA 2011-3 Server Motherboard for Intel i7 5th/6th Gen Xeon E5 V3/V4 Series (E-ATX, 8*DDR4 ECC Max 256G, 2*NVME M.2, 2*Gb LAN, SATA 3.0, PCIe 3.0)

Can't find anything on the internet for any X99 or C621 chipset describe this error. Have tried 1 CPU instead of two, tried ECC and Desktop RAM one slot, all slots. Nothing. Reset CMOS, nothing. Dead board unless someone can describe this. UPDATE: This is a MACHINIST rebranded board. NO YOU CAN'T FLASH ANY OTHER D8 MAX BIOS ON THIS BOARD. You will brick it unless you have a RT tool. Appears there may be a dead RAM slot, Socket 2, D1. Ram plugs in just fine, but WHEA. When RAM is plugged, load up windows, system throws WHEA errors with a IO/Interconnect error. It's correctable, and system doesn't crash. Two Xeon 2696V4s 224GB of 256 of DDR4 ECC. Board's power draw does not read properly. MAX TDP on board readout depicts 34 watt peak under 24 hours of Prime 95. CPU Package temperatures read just fine too. AUXTIN temperatures are false, and stay at 107c. No active VRM temps visible here either, but ran the FLIR and temperatures are okay for VRMs w/ top down heatsink fans blowing. 97c peak on 24 hours of Prime 95. CPUs turbo clock and boost just fine. No outstanding issues with this board, just wish it had more actual PCIE slots like Huanzhai's F8D Plus. I give it a 5/5 mostly because it arrived faster than any other board from Aliexpress. 4/5 for seemingly dead RAM slot, don't have any other ram to test that is ECC.

Does the job. Multiple boards running with no issues. The ram installation can be a pain from time to time. All in all, they perform well and do what is expected.

Motherboard went dead after 2 months

A bunch of other reviewers have reported things like POST code BD or the board dropping dead. As far as I can tell, these errors are related to excessive socket loading or torsion on the board from big PCIe devices or heavy tower coolers - due to a series of unfortunate events I wound up with a pair of dual-tower 120mm coolers on mine and I can reproducibly 'brick' the board by moving the computer around or letting the board sag under its own weight on a cardboard box. On Linux this triggers machine check errors if POST succeeds, or random BD errors or complete unresponsiveness which require reseating the PCIe devices and/or the CPUs and RAM. The board would probably work fine with Wraith Prism coolers like the manufacturer intended (they ship a pair of 2011->AM4 clip-on heatsink adapters in the box) or with 120mm AIO cooling to relieve the strain on the sockets, but beware of big air.

I got this board and dropped a pair of 2697-V4's (18 core each) in this board, and added 256 gig of DDR4-2133MHz PC4-17000 ECC RDIMM. Worked right out of the box. Other than removing boot silent mode I made no changes to the bios. The reason this isn't a 5 star review ... it took me a while to figure out why windows 2012 R2 wasn't connecting to the network was it needed drivers (Amazon removed my last review with the link to the drivers). Otherwise really pleased, been running CPU-Z bench on it for a week at 100% utilization. No glitches. And on the SATA side it seems temperamental with the HD cables you use. I went through 5 cables before I found one that worked. I should have gone NVMe M.2.

I was excited to install LG2011 CPUs into an affordable board with 4x 16x PCIE gen 3 slots, it's exactly what I was looking for for AI/ML applications. The issue is I cannot Activate virtualization from the BIOS as per standard server boards. Today after installing new ram, the error code B6 (a useful feature) came up, I reset the cmos battery and now the board will not turn on at all. I've only had it a little over a month and it's too late to return.

First motherboard that actually worked, and matched the picture on amazon. Pretty decent build quality. Would give 5 stars, but it doesnt have built in TPM module, and there is no easy to install module that you can buy on the market, you need to follow some 3rd party wiring guides and there is no guarantee it would work. Also there is no support, no drivers, no bios upgrades available, at least I was unable to find any, not from 'official' manufacturer sources. This is just enough to get home LAB running.
