As a MacBook user, I bought the Portronics Mport 8 on March 1, 2025, out of pure necessity. After 7 months, I can confidently say it's not just an accessory—it's the missing half of the modern laptop experience. The core problem with my MacBook was simultaneous connectivity. I constantly struggled to share a screen, transfer photos, and plug in a USB drive all at once. This 8-in-1 hub has solved every single headache. It feels premium and has held up perfectly after nearly three-quarters of a year of continuous use. Final Verdict: Don't settle for the "dongle life" struggle. The Portronics Mport 8 is a highly durable, high-utility tool that delivers on its promises. Reviewed in India on 20 July 2025 I bought this USB-C hub primarily to use Samsung DeX with my phone on an external monitor, and for that purpose, it works brilliantly. I'm writing this review to share both the good and the seriously concerning aspects of my experience. The Good: First off, the functionality is excellent. It was completely plug-and-play with my Samsung phone. The HDMI output provides a stable and clear picture for DeX, the USB ports work perfectly for my keyboard and mouse, and data transfer speeds are as expected. All the ports are functional and I haven't faced any connectivity issues. For its core job, it's a solid product. The Bad and Concerning: Now for the major issue. I have received a noticeable electric shock on several occasions when my hand accidentally touched the metal casing, specifically around the Ethernet port. I've tested this, and it only seems to happen when the hub is connected to my wall charger through the Power Delivery (PD) charging port. When it's just connected to the phone, there's no issue. The shock isn't severely painful, but it's a very distinct and uncomfortable static jolt that should absolutely not be happening. This points to a serious problem with the hub's electrical grounding or shielding when handling higher power from the PD input. Conclusion: Functionally, this hub gets five stars. It does everything it claims to do. However, I have to give it four stars overall due to the electrical shock issue. It's a significant safety concern, not just for me, but potentially for the expensive devices connected to it. I'm now hesitant to use it with PD charging, which unfortunately limits its usefulness as an all-in-one desktop solution. If you plan to use this without PD charging, it's great. But if you need to charge your device through the hub, I would advise you to be extremely cautious or consider another brand.

I have been using this Portronics USB-C multi-port adapter for regular daily work and overall it has been a reliable accessory. .The build quality feels premium with a solid metal body. All ports are well placed and very useful, especially for laptops with limited connectivity. I regularly connect USB drives, mouse, keyboard, and memory cards, and the performance has been stable without random disconnections. Plug and play works perfectly and no drivers are required. .Data transfer speed on the USB ports is good for normal usage. The adapter does get slightly warm during continuous use, but it is within safe limits and not an issue. -One small drawback I have been noticed is with main USB-C port. When using a Type-A to USB-C female adapter, the connection feels slightly loose. If the cable gets a small push or movement, it may disconnect. With standard USB-C cables, it works fine, but the port could have had a tighter fit for adapters.
