I have been wanting a set of wood carving tools for a very long time and I am pleased with this set. They are definitely not high end and some of the points/corners aren't perfectly square, but for a beginning set I think these are much better than many of the other options on the market.

I found them to be too dull to efficiently carve through basswood. Invest in the proper sharpening tools and I’m sure these would be fantastic for softwoods...unfortunately, the proper sharpening tools are likely more expensive than this set!

Came in great condition. It is a birthday present for someone. I am sure they will love it!

A good set of carving blades/tools for detail carving of rubber and soft wood (bass wood). The handles are of quality as well. Did not try with harder wood yet

I love the quality of this carving set. Even the packaging is good quality and I don't need to find a new home for them. The tools have a nice weight to it, it's comfortable in your hand. I like the long and pleasant handles on them. The tips are quite sharp and they seem to stay that way in the long run.I work with wood a lot and just started with wood carving but good tools are always important. This set will do for me. They have a good variety of heads, so you have the flexibility at work.

These were an affordable set of gouges and chisels and of surprising quality. The handles are comfortable and will not split through moderate useage of a mallet as a steel ferral close to the end should keep the handle in good condition from prolonged use.I had to slightly deburr a couple of edges which left the gouges super sharp and with that nice feeling you get when you cut wood with a good tool. The straight chisels were already razor-sharp. I'm using them for intricate violin scroll carving and they've so far been excellent.If you are starting out and want to experiment to find out what tools you may like to use the best, this is a great value set. Once you know, you can go on to buy better quality favourites but to start off with, this set really fits the bill.
