Ronald had to be that guy. If the product says pneumatic staple gun, then it uses a compressor. Electric guns just needs to be plugged in.

The width of the staple is 3/16", but you could turn the gun sideways perhaps and that should give you the room you need.

Can you use this stapler on leather upholstery?

I used this Roberts narrow crown stapler in my work as a flooring installer. It stands up to pro work use. There must have been a defect for one to last only an hour. Did you have it replaced? And yes it should easily handle leather.

Can I use this for installing laminate on a wall?

I am not sure what you are wanting to install but if you are referring to a laminate like Formica, no you would want to use a glue. Something like liquid nail etc..staples would probably crack a plastic type laminate.

Breaks fast

Purchased this stapler and it broke in less then 20 uses. Screws starting falling out the first couple times i used it then the part that drives the stapler just failed one day and never worked again.

Great for installing stair runner

I've upholstered chairs before with a regular staple gun and had a lot of issues with staples not penetrating fully. I had no issues with this staple gun. I used this to install a new carpet runner on my stairs and it worked perfectly. Every staple went through this fairly thick carpet and into the stairs, no jams or any other issues. It's fast and powerful. Just be careful because there is no safety.
