Good value and appears to work well with HomeAssistant and ZHA
So far so good, paired with no trouble to ZHA on Home Assistant, I recommend leaving them near a hub or your cordinator for a few hours once paired, and do the firmware update (supported over HA but they like to be near to a hub or repeater to do this reliably) They seem well made, and the waterproofing looks good enough to use them on the outdoor plant pots I've put them in. Good value for the price. I'll be ordering more for the coutyard garden behind my house.

Accurate, Reliable, Single battery for about 4 months so far.
This feeds into my Home Assistant setup and provides both soil moisture and temperature readings, which I use in an automation to decide when the Zigbee hose attachment should water the plants through a trickle drip system. It works brilliantly and even gives me a good idea of how cold it actually is outside! The readings seem reasonably accurate and are very consistent so far. A great little sensor that integrates perfectly and makes automated watering easy and reliable.

Rubbish, returned the next day
Nice and easy to setup, got it connected in no time. Placed it in the garden (it's a soil sensor after all) and within a couple of hours it wasn't connected. Restarted it, connected, put it in a different spot in case it was originally too far away, showed as connected....after a few hours it was offline again. Rubbish. Returned the next day.

Good soil measurement
Super probe. I have integrated it with home assistant (ZHA) and it just works a treat. Readings came up almost instantly and while I have no real way of confirming that they are accurate, I now have a number to work from. I'm planning to incorporate the data for automated irrigation and this will make it easy. The probe itself should be handled relatively carefully as instructed but once placed it should be quite durable. Handy that an aa battery is also included - so far it's not eating a huge amount of power so I expect it to last a while

Constantly disconnects, missing data, unreliable
Constantly disconnects and connects itself back hours later, it seems like quite a few people have the same issue, unfortunately. Very sad, I was hoping a lot that this one would be a great option. It was easy to connect it though on the first day via zigbee. For some reason, one of the time I watered the flowers the sensor didn't catch that and humidity didn't go up. Unfortunately, I am returning this product cause it's unreliable.

Data not reliable
I bought this thing for a single purpose, to give me at least a semi-accurate idea of soil moisture level but unfortunately the values jump around so much that I have no idea what to trust as correct. It'll show e.g. 40% moisture after I water the plant, gradually drop to 30% over a few days as expected, but then out of nowhere suddenly drop to 15%. I've seen happen this several times already so can't rely on any readings which essentially means it's useless. Also frequently disconnects from the Zigbee hub meaning long data gaps on my home assistant graphs Edit: After posting this review Third Reality reached out and offered to send me a new unit off their own initiative, so far I've only used it for a few days so can't say if it's any better but bumping up to 3 stars for good customer service

Compatible with Zigbee2MQTT
Works well with Home Assistant via Zigbee2MQTT. Note the moisture sensor is shown as humidity by default. Quickly resolved by renaming the entity in Home Assistant. Seems pretty robust, will see how it weathers through the winter.

Leave a lot to be desired but is probably one of the better soil sensors on the market
I have been looking for an internet connected moisture level sensor for a long time and the choice is very limited. The Thirdreality soil sensor leaves a lot to be desired, for one placing the temperature sensor in the plastic body is just a waste of space, as it is enclosed in the battery compartment, which heats up well in excess of the ambient temperature, it would have much more useful if it read the soil temperature. Some have commented as to the size of the battery holder, however unless you have very small plant pots I think it is fine, the fact that the unit takes an AA battery that lasts a couple of years is a neat solution. I first tried using the Thirdreality smart bridge but I could not get it to work properly either with Apple or Amazon Alexa, I then tried the Smart Hub Gen 2 and that was better, although the app can be improved, as it does not for example show the history, and the icons show the temperature in Fahrenheit and have to open each to read the centigrade reading The instructions suggested to use a screwdriver to pierce the hole in the soil before inserting the sensor, I found using a knife is a better solution as the whole is tight enough to allow direct contact with the soil, whereas if you are to use a screwdriver, the hole is far too big and it will take time until the soil settles and you start to get a steady reading. I have bought 4 of the sensors which i place at varying locations in the garden, they are all reading a moisture level of around 60% which is what I expected considering that it has been raining recently. I wish there was a better product on the market, one that was linked to a database of plants, recoded the moisture level history, had alarms that could be set when a certain a level was reached, and a soil temperature sensor.
