Very good for our wok
This is the best product for our wok so far. We have a wok with round bottom, and it cannot stand stably on our GE cook top. I bought this and it works so well. I like its light weighted, and doesn't block to much flame. Our wok turns hot very quickly. Besides, Thanks for the fast shipping.

Nice Wok Ring!
This is a good wok ring, but it only works small end up on my gas burners. If I put it large end up the wok rests on the center of the burner, not the ring, and is very wobbly. Not a great situation. But if you have a different kind of burner than the standard gas range has, it may work either side up for you. My son wired the ring to our burner so it can't slide off, no matter how hard he chows the fried rice or stir-fried vegetables. When we need a regular burner, we just swap the front left for the back right, and it's all good, but we can put big pots or pans on top of the wok ring if we want to do so. Actually, that serves a purpose. When I put a big pot over high heat the fire goes up the side of the pans and all the heat goes with it, which makes boiling a pot of water a bit of a challenge. With the ring on, the fire stays UNDER the big pots, even on high, and actually boils water much more quickly.

Well made wok ring, works on electric range
I recently purchased this wok ring to go along with the Joyce Chen 14" Pro-Chef Round Bottom Wok. This has worked just fine for me on an electric stove with the traditional 8" spiral heating elements. It holds the round bottom wok about 1" above the burner. Without the ring, the wok would sit upright on the burner, but I was always worried about the danger of it tipping over. Now it is very stable. I did notice the sharp edges along the top opening that others have reported. Be careful when washing this! I couldn't give them five stars with this obvious hazard. Mine appears to be made of aluminum, with no evidence of any coatings or paint. I've heated the wok up very, very hot, with no evidence of discoloration or flaking of a coating. Perhaps this would work better with a gas stove, and I'll have to try it with my outdoor stove sometime. Perhaps this will not work as well as a larger burner for a wok full of food. But I was surprised to find that for the smaller portions that I cook, this ring combined with the 14" wok can heat up very well and allow me to produce a good stir fry on an electric range. I did some experiments, to see if the wok ring would slow the cooking down. Without the ring I had a hot ring around the bottom of the wok. With the ring, I found that I had much more even heating on the bottom of the wok, and that I could heat a quart of water about 25% faster. It seemed to concentrate the heat from the burner.

Versatile wok ring makes traditional woks work on your gas stove
I've been trying to get away from teflon flat bottom woks and go with the traditional iron round woks. The issue is that the wok was too unstable on my stove. Buying this wok ring worked wonders for making it much more stable. I can now place it on my stove flipped upside down from the posted photo and get the gas flame directly on the iron wok. If I bring the wok to the table I bring the wok ring and place it as shown in the original photo to make an easy way of serving food from the wok. Works great on my 15" wok on a Kenmore iron top gas range.

Works OK, but it's very thin
This rack gets the job done, but it’s flimsier than I had expected. I have a carbon steel wok that’s 14 inches and this rack/ring does support my wok fine. But that’s all it does. When I cook with my wok, I’m pretty aggressive. I use a wok properly, and what I mean by that is I get the wok red hot close to 500F degrees before I start cooking. And when I toss everything in the wok to cook, I need to cook really fast. That means I need to manhandle the wok. In Asian terms, I’ve heard the term “pow wok” used. That means you have to aggressively flip the handle of the wok to toss up the food. This ring/rack does not provide me with confidence when doing that. It moves and slides around too much and it just doesn’t feel the same as using my study outdoor 100,000BTU burner that’s made specifically for a wok. I can manhandle my wok in that burner as it is sturdy and wouldn’t move an inch. Of course I didn’t expect that from this ring/rack, but I did expect the metal to be a tad thicker.

Wok rack review
The wok ring is good for stabilizing the wok on the gas stove. Tip- spray a little WD-40 on the sticky tag and let it soak for a few minutes-the tag will come right off. Wash and dry the rack and you should be good to go! Happy with the purchase!

Steady material
The product appears to be very well made. Good material. Will hold the weight of a hard anodized wok. Unfortunately all my burners are same size and this is too wide for my burners. My burners don’t get centered, they end up on the side. I will have to return it and look for one with smaller diameter.

Adds a New Dimension
I got this for use with a wok but have been using it with my pots to keep from staining the bottoms. It worked so well I’ve ordered 2 more. Seems to be made well? Material is somewhat light thickness wise but have worked as advertised! Longevity is yet to be determined.

Well built, poor materials
Fairly standard work stand/rack, and generally well produced, but upon opening there was already rust apparent where the metal edge begins to be rolled, so either low quality stainless or a bad batch. Sticker used to mark the product had also deteriorated and glue was very difficult to remove, probably sitting in a warehouse too long. Serviceable overall however.
