Q: Why does my item have a cancer warning label on it?

Everything that could ship to California requires this label. No one knows what all causes cancer, and California has gone off the deep end wanting cancer information on everything. This now appears on almost everything that is sold today, so you can do your own research on cancer causing ingredients. We are also disappointed in this legislation because it does not appear to effect the desired result. It is merely a compliance notice that manufactures must follow.

Q: My laka has a best by date, not an expiration date. is this good for over year? i opened in june 2022 and it says best by oct 2023. looks good still.

It’s May 2023 so it should be still good if it smells ok and not have any visible moldy appearance

Q: What is the expiry date if i order now? Also how well is this item packaged? I'm worried about product delivered damaged

The expiration date will be different with each batch. We use fulfillment by Amazon, so Amazon will check the date before sending. They will also be responsible for the packaging, although we bubble wrap ours before sending it to Amazon for fulfillment. We feel it's a responsible step in getting it to you safely.

The expiration date can be very difficult to find, but is usually stamped in ink on the glass itself. If you look at the seller's barcode sticker, you should be able to find the info that was found on the case pack that the original items shipped in. This p65 warning is due to California legislation requiring a notice for anything that could cause cancer - which is unknown. If it is not followed by a specific chemical known to cause cancer, it is merely a compliance notification that manufacturers are required to add.

Yummy Authentic Laksa

I was looking for an authentic and tasteful laksa paste, as I had tried some sold in small packages in some asian grocery store, but they never quite tasted right. This paste was recommended from an Australian Top Chef, and I highly recommend it too! My husband was stunned how I could pull out such an authentic Laksa!! The taste is right on point. It has a fresh lemongrass flavor with that yummy'funk’ taste. Will definitely get more of it from now on!!

This item comes with. Prop 65 Label. Warning of Toxic and Cancer Prone Ingredients. Why would anyone consume this with this label? Please stop selling it!

Pretty close to the real thing!

Spent a lot of time in Singapore in the last 25 years, and really got addicted to Laksa there. Favorite was 328 in the Peranakan neighborhood. Found a couple of restaurants recently (East Bay SF) that have it on the menu; close, but not quite the same. Saw some really good reviews of this stuff, so gave it a try. It's really a good base for Laksa - takes most of the work out of it. But you still need to add your own stuff (chicken, shrimp, makrut leaves etc etc - so the final result is up to you. Highly recommended.

Disappointed, it tastes ok only

I’m disappointed and I think it’s overly rated in the reviews. It’s more sour than usual, could be tomato and lemon/lime, in some way tastes like Tom Yum. It tastes ok but definitely not 5 stars.
