I needed this for a valve clearance and VVT sprocket change on a 1.4 Punto. You can’t beat a Haynes manual for value for money when it comes to doing those kind of jobs. Spot on.

Quite a few years have passed since I last bought a Haynes manual so it was interesting to see how things have changed. The step by step instructions are, as always, clear and concise and the photographs help illustrate key parts and procedures, though the print quality could be clearer and it is a little surprising to find that everything is still in black and white when full-colour printing is now so widespread. However, the choice of black and white photos is probably forced by the low-grade paper, which has the consistency of rough toilet tissue and makes the whole manual feel unnecessarily cheap and low quality. Haynes manuals aim to be both an owner's guide for the novice mechanic and a workshop manual for those with more experience, and in both respects they are a resounding success. The opening sections cover emergency repairs and routine maintenance, before moving on to more complex repairs and mechanical maintenance. The step-by-step guides are comprehensive and range from replacing a bulb, to a full engine removal. Each of the procedures are graded from easy to very difficult, so you know before starting what you are up against. Important settings, such as clearance and torque, are also provided at the start of each section. The manual contains a detailed section on electrical procedures and fault finding, complete with wiring diagrams, though the absence of a key explaining circuit symbols and colour abbreviations is a disappointing omission and requires some guess work to use. Overall this is an essential addition to the Punto owners bookshelf and though the print quality seems stuck in the 70's, the content has continued to improve and provides almost every detail you could ask for.

Not much you can really say. Usual Haynes quality with easy to follow instructions and photos. Includes lots of useful additional information & build history.

A useful book for an old Fiat Punto

It has most of the info you need, except for OE numbers for items, which would be really handy. Same for exploded views of at least the main parts would be good to have. The images are a bit all over the place, eg. sometimes it says exactly "see illustration" and does not say which illustration - and it can be a few pages back! Same for marked illustrations, eg. "see illustration 12.1", and the 12.1 illustration might be several pages from the current page. Also, some descriptions are a bit vague and leave a lot to imagination. I expected this to be a "fool-proof" manual, but this certainly isn't.

In depth explanation of repair and maintenance

Grosse déception,les Punto à moteur turbo ne figurent pas dans ce manuel, et la couverture ne le fait pas apparaître, donc on le découvre après l'achat, c'est dommage. Rien non plus sur le moteur à distribution "multi-air"

A Haynes should alway be the very next thing you buy after the car. As long as you follow the steps you can't go wrong. If only Jefroid Bezos would follow this example Amazon would be an amazing company instead of the Mafia they are. I hate Jefroid.

Un manual muy completo. Es en inglés pero con un nivel básico te arreglas bien. Como dato interesante: incluye todos los pares de apriete, esquemas eléctricos y cantidades y tipos de fuidos óptimos necesarios para el mantenimiento del coche. Si te gusta hacerlo a ti mismo estos manuales son imprescindibles.
