Works for aphids, much cheaper than buying a pre-mix
I overwintered several pepper plants that ended up infecting all my spring vegetable seedlings with aphids. What a pain in the ass! I was worried any aphid treatment would hurt the tender seedlings but the Safer's soap worked great with no damage to the plants. The label suggests mixing a fresh batch for each use but I've found I can mix it up and use it for several weeks and it is still effective. I'm mixing 50 parts well water to 1 part Safer's concentrate in a spray bottle. Make sure to spray the top and bottom of the leaf and then repeat again in 3 days.

I believe it works
Smell: heavy soap. I'm good with it. Mixing: takes very little. I'm good with it. But I had a very difficult time keeping it off my skin. It worked on gnats but they returned with a vengeance. I believe it works but I treated on Fri, didn't return til Mon, saw a big difference so I used twice what was called for - mistake. I may have killed 2 of my 20 plants, so I stopped treating for fear of killing more, and gnats tripled. I think I did some thing wrong, and I believe this product works but I goofed. I removed 1 star because I thot it was pre-mixed & was in a spray bottle, and for Me mixing is difficult.

Effective, Easy to use, and safe.
I really love this stuff. I had a severe case of aphids that spread rapidly. So much so, I was actually considering just tossing the infected plants which is not something iv ever done because my plants are like my babies. I didnt want to use any store bought pesticides because in the past, even with following the directions exactly, my plants always ended up getting chemical burns. I have two cats who love to nibble when im not around and a 3 year old who shares my loves for plants and is always helping to water and care for them. I needed something strong enough to take care of this problem but mild enough to cause no harm to my daughter, cats and the plants themselves. I did a ton of research and decided this was my best choice. Im soo pleased with how well this worked. The smell is strong but thats mother natures fault lol I just tried not to breath it in, I also wore gloves and sprayed them down away from where we hang out outside. Being its summer, I let them hang out outside for a few days under my table umbrella and would check on them daily. I would say 90% of the aphids were dead by day one and by day 3 any leftovers slowly died off as well. The plants didnt get any burns at all, in fact I feel like they all look healthier and stronger then before all this happened. I would 100% recommend this. I plan on doing this bi yearly to all my plants as a way to prevent infestations in the future. A couple complaints iv read were that the bottle you get is smaller then it looks in the pictures because it has a handle and most bottles with handles are meant for gallons, although I agree the pictures can give off that impression, its really not a problem considering one treatment doesn't require a lot of product, so I don't find that to even be a problem. In fact I like that its smaller because it was easier to pour and control plus storing it doesn't take a lot of space. Another complaint was that when it arrived it solidified, yes mine was this way as well, but I simply left it out in the sun while I set up my treatment area and got everything I needed together and by the time I was ready to use (about 30 minutes) it was melted enough that I was able to use it. By the time I put everything away it was completely melted. It sais in the directions that you can always heat up some water and let the bottle sit in the water for a bit (like heating up a bottle for a baby). Again not a big deal and for how well this product worked is certainly not going to stop me from purchasing again when I run out. In short, it was effective, easy to use and considering its natural and safe, its a no brainer.

Helped get rid of soil mites
I inherited an Indian silk tree from a coworker that was laid off but left his tree at work. He had left a pot outside with soil in it during the last year. He noticed that the tree started to grow in it so he brought it to work to give the office a little green color. I moved the tree into my office after he left. After about 3 months I noticed that my grapefruit trees (sitting next to it) were losing leaves all of a sudden. The Indian silk tree stopped growing and started to lose leaves too. I checked a lot of things. Definitely was not overwatering it. I tried to add sulfur to help the PH level go down as it was very high. Things were not working like they should have. I finally checked the soil and saw a lot of little (half the size of a grain of sand) white bugs in the soil. I remember it had been outside and therefore it probably had all sorts of bad stuff in the soil. They were only visible when I dug into the soil an inch or two and mixed it. I had these before and they killed a hibiscus tree that I had. They did not spin webs on the leaves so I knew they weren't spider mites. I decided to try this insecticide since it didn't look as harmful as most insecticides and it said it could kill mites (not specifically soil mites but just mites). I added the recommended dose to 3 cups of water and poured it onto the soil and only the soil in both tree pots (1 1/2 cups each). They are both in 10 inch pots and they are only a year old. It's been two weeks and the Indian silk tree is growing again and not losing leaves. The grapefruit tree isn't dying anymore either. The grapefruit tree did end up losing all of its leaves before I decided to try the soap but it looks much healthier. The soil in the Indian silk tree pot doesn't smell like a dead animal when I water it now too. It used to smell horrible when I watered it before. I'll probably get some bad feedback for not following directions but I don't care. This worked for the soil infestation in two different pots and I'm happy. I grew the grapefruit trees from seed and the Indian silk tree is very hard to grow too. I really did not want to lose them. Glad this worked for me. I'm sure it works as well on other pests. It does list a lot of them that it works on. I'm looking forward to the next growing season to use this on my garden. I'm sure it will work well on the aphid problem I have.

Not safe on Maidenhair fern
I purchased this to target persistent black aphids on Maidenhair fern (Adiantum). It was effective, but damaged the tender emerging fronds, which are the aphids' favorite part of the plant. I diluted as per the label and tested it on a small area. Things seemed to be fine the next day so I thoroughly treated many emergent fronds loaded with aphids. A few days later the tender leaf buds on the fronds appeared somewhat withered. They never opened fully. But they were free of aphids for a week or so. I did not treat the fully developed branches and their leaves, though they, too, have aphids. I did not think I could get adequate coverage to make treatment of the whole plant worth the trouble and mess. I tip the pot sideways and gently "beat" the leaves and most of the aphids fall like rain onto the cement. (There, a broom dispatches them.) It's been a couple of weeks since I treated the plant and new fronds are emerging, with somewhat fewer aphids. But this plant grows so slowly that any loss of new growth is a big setback. The lifecycle of these aphids seems to end as the weather warms up. But they are a constant nuisance in Spring.

Effective and nontoxic.
Good value concentrate, kills the bugs without damaging the plants and is safe/non-toxic. Bugs don't develop immunity either.
