The first thing which I would love to write is it's truly good investment than buying low spec windows machine. THE MOST IMPORTANT, it certainly works with windows. Being, a computer engineer myself and now again graduate student at UCD. Please don't be sceptical that it won't work with windows. As per computer Architecture, it makes no sense why it won't work?First thing first, if you have made your mind to buy it. You should not call for Technical support and stay in the queue because they don't know themselves what they are talking about.The simple way to figure it out; just know what motherboard your machine has? If its an Intel one, then you will know everything within a second. All you have to do, look for system properties and find your motherboard name on Google; follow the Intel website detailed specification.Next, know the exact frequency and type of RAM(DD3/4) as that's most important while considering any type of upgrade for your machine. Once done with that, go ahead order it.The last tip, if your computer is too old. Consider changing your old mechanical HDD to SSD. This will still cost less, you can still live with your computer for 3 more years. Later, have the best machine with high-end spec at low cost.Hope this helps!

I used this 16GB kit to upgrade the memory for a 13 inch early 2011 Macbook Pro. Apple advise that the maximum memory for this model should be 8GB, but Crucial's memory scanner correctly advised that the configuration for this model will accept and utilise 16GB.The process of upgrading was simple and took less than 10 minutes, assuming you know how to use a cross head screwdriver (10 screws - make sure you know which holes to put the 3 long screws back into!).Everything has worked flawlessly since and there is now no 'lag' when a number of applications are open.

I bought this memory top up for an old iMac and it was so easy to install. The pc is working faster now and I feel impressed that I could install it myself. Much easier than trying to install an external hard drive. This brand is a quality brand that I have used before. Highly recommended.

Finally after 4 attempts at locating the correct memory....This worked on my Imac 2010 mid version. So with standard 4gb and now the 8gb cruising on the 12gb and running like a treat...

I am posting this review on the same day when i received my product from Amazon!I have been struggling for the past 2 years with a slow performing 4GB RAM early 2011 MacBook Pro (15 inch). The space almost was up and I had to move my photo library to an external drive freeing up 300 GB of space on my 500 GB factory HDD. Things started to look a lot better in terms of performance for the usual browsing, watching movies etc. But when I started to use Adobe products like Lightroom CC etc., again my MacBook started to become slow and that's where i decided to give a try of upgrading the RAM.Boy wasn't that exactly i needed!! I immediately ordered the Crucial 16GB RAM and same day delivery (thanks to Amazon prime) and i followed the required steps to replace the old RAM with new 16 GB RAM. Now my MacBook is not a slug anymore but a Racing Horse :DNext step - Have to see if i can upgrade my HDD to an SSD.... probably i can convert this Racing Horse to a Steam Engine ;)Will keep noting the performance of the new 16GB RAM and update my review if i see any changes in the future. Highly recommended seller. I bought this for my early 2011 mac pro and was unfortunate to find there was a fault with one of the memory sticks (random kernel panics once in a while, laptop freezing or switching off). I tried the memory sticks one at a time to find out that only one of them was bad. So i wrote to the seller one evening and they replied and shipped a replacement pack the next morning. Following day I had a new set of memories which now work beautifully. Thanks a lot crucial, great product, great costumer support.

I have just finished installing the 16GB RAM into my late 2011 MBP 13" i5 2.4GHz. The installation was super easy, with plenty of help online. I also got a chance to clean my mac book inside and with the fan covered in less dust everything is smoother and quiet and above all, much FASTER. Especially because I am running High Sierra, which designates 2.5GB of RAM to the OS ALL THE TIME. So it isn't best for older machines unless you can upgrade the hardware. Just make sure the item you buy to fit your mac is compatible and you should have no issues. Really given my laptop a new lease of life! My next upgrade will be the hard drive, going to SSD from SATA.

My son's Macbook Pro (2011), with its standard 4GB of RAM just couldn't cope with a professional music writing program and kept locking up all the time. With a deadline fast approaching I ordered this 16Gb pack which was delivered on time, having paid the extra for next day delivery. It was easy to fit (having had some experience replacing parts on my daughter's Macbook!). My son's Mabook booted up without any problems and he's found the additional RAM to be a revelation in terms of increased speed and smoothness of operation. Fortunately, he managed to complete his music project before the deadline. Unfortunately, it now looks like I'm going to have to upgrade my daughter's Macbook as well!

I got this to upgrade my late 2011 15" MBP (2.2g i7). I originally had 4GB, but it wasn't enough when I'm working on a lot of things have multiple Chrome tabs open, Word, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Spotify, and Evernote occasionally. I still had Mountain Lion and wanted to upgrade to Mavericks. Plus, a friend gave me ProTools 10 since I wanted to experiment with recording and editing some music. So, I definitely could use a memory upgrade...Apple said that that my machine can only only be upgraded up to 8GB, until I read from others that a 16GB works. Then I went to the Crucial site, ran their memory advisor, and this kit came up on top of the result. Before purchasing, I've read some opinions that the difference between a 16GB and an 8GB is hardly noticeable. However, since I plan on eventually replacing my HD with a SSD, and just for about $60 more, I just went for this 16GB kit. Much cheaper and less hassle in the long run if you plan on upgrading to 16GB later. I don't know about you, but I prefer to have same size ram for each of the slots, which is also recommended anyway...And did I mention it was SUPER easy to install? Just follow the instructions on the Apple site and make sure everything's properly inserted as there's kind of a trick to it (you'll hear a click/snap that tells you it's in). I guess my only advice is to be gentle from when you open the case to removing the old memory, especially on the first time. There are times when it feels like something won't budge. Instead of going full force, just gradually increase pressure and you might have to wiggle some stuff a bit. It also helps to have the right tools, especially if you don't want to void your warranty...So, with the 16GB memory and a clean install of OS X Mavericks, my MBP runs 3/4 times faster. Adobe CS apps load within 3 seconds and there's no lag when switching in between apps. I've had the memory kit installed for about 3 months now, and I never had any problems, nor have my machine get really loud (and sometimes hot) when running intensive applications. I'm a happy panda so far!

Upgraded my late 2011 15" MBP from 8GB to this 16GB RAM (together with an internal upgrade to SSD), and it's working well. RAM was easy to remove and easy to install — just have to get the angle right when slotting it in.

Update voor 11 jaar oude laptop. Werkt perfect streamen gaat sneller buffers zijn groter.

Compré esta memoria para llevar mi Macbook Pro de 15" Early 2011 de 4GB a 16 GB. La memoria es 100% compatible (a pesar de que Apple dice que ese modelo sólo acepta 8GB) y funciona perfectamente, se instalan de forma muy sencilla en los dos slots de memoria. Por supuesto ponerle toda esta memoria a la máquina la hizo más rápida y le agregó unos años más de vida, la diferencia en velocidad y desempeño es enorme. El único pero es que el precio en Amazon México es sensiblemente más alto que en Amazon USA, terminé comprándola en Mëxico por la premura de tenerla.
