Upon opening the box, the unit was calibrated from the factory, it was ready to go out of the box after installing 2xAAA batteries. Hopefully it works well for years to come.

Not sure what happened with the other people who reviewed this product but I found it very accurate and took the guesting out of my sanding steps during paint correction. Highly recommend. And yes the calibration process is weird but I used another reviewers guide and it worked flawlessly

Poorly written instructions
Instructions are so poorly written that they should create a video on how to calibrate it. What a nightmare.
