VEVOR winch
This winch works perfectly as I hoped it would. I purchase this winch because it cost about the same as the HARBOR FRATE winch but the VECORE winch I chose is able to lift more than the HARVOR FRATE winch. I really like the wireless option for this winch.

MacGyver'd a mount for my situation, plus some useful tips on usage and safety.
While the lack of complete, helpful instructions left me a little frustrated to start, I discovered that mounting it was a relatively simple MacGyver my mounting setup, it turned out that I really needed something custom anyway. The video details how I mounted the winch and some useful tidbits on its operation to set your expectations on what will be required of you. The video shows my setup and explains a little about why I needed to do it that way. The photo shows my first mounting plate setup where I drilled holes in a steel plate and bolted the winch body to it. My son came over and suggested another setup option that was much better than my original plan so I ended up replacing that plate with some beefy angle iron. Regardless, the photo is useful to see an option for mounting the winch to a fixed plate. Though you can buy just the winch independently, it is nice to get the whole kit with the controller. Hope this information helps. I would definitely buy this unit again and, for my use, the price and performance were just what I needed.

Vevor Hoist
Bought this for my brother, it is installed and he says it seems really sturdier, and is bigger, and heavier and more impressive than he was expecting. He loves that all he has to do is hook up and push that button and it raises right up. He can do what ever he needs to, and he loves that he doesn't have to pull and tug on it himself, like with his manual one. He says the noise is to be expected. Oh, and I can't forget one important aspect, its wireless.

Great, but could use multiple speeds
I bought this item to lift various things into the loft of my barn when not in use for long periods of time to get them out of the way. I love it, but I do wish sometimes that it was capable of moving at different speeds. There are times when you are wanting more of a gentle or slower lift movement, but this is all or nothing - on or off.

Assembled incorrectly
I bought this to replace an older and smaller hoist in my garage. The wireless controller worked perfectly. But after cycling it a couple times about 1 meter out and in, I saw metal shavings falling from the drum. A closer look revealed that the outside bearing was incorrectly pressed into the stamped housing and it wobbled. I returned it.
