Beginner's Guide to Free-Motion Quilting: 50+ Visual Tutorials to Get You Started - Professional Quality Results on Your Home Machine

I am a longarm quilter and I'm always looking for new patterns in quilting. Many of the quilting books are specifically for the regular sewing machine and the techniques are different. Although this book is for the home machine, the patterns and ideas are adaptable. I love how she builds each pattern from a very simple beginning and elaborates. This is a go to book when I am planning a quilting design.

I have been waiting for this book to be published for quite some time. I am so glad to have finally received it! It is everything I hoped it would be. As a beginning quilter this book is invaluable to me because of the advice and adorable patterns included. I still have a long ways to go before I have smooth control over my quilting lines, but the patterns are beautiful in this book!

I find the instructions clear and informative. I have not been able to master the techniques, but feel there are more things that can be added into the tips that would make the techniques easier to learn--or maybe I'm too impatient and need to practice more.

Basic designs. Love it. I am going to get it spiral bound so it stays open. Just joined a quilt guild and they recommended it. Glad I bought it.

Detailed machine quilting ideas.

I absolutely love this book.I've been free motion quilting for about six months and initially passed this book up because it's title led me to believe it would be too basic.I was REALLY wrong because it is an excellent book for both beginning and more advanced free motion quilters and full of inspiration and beautiful designs that will work on both modern and traditional quilts.The designs are lovely,very well illustrated and easy to learn and the treatment of feathers and borders is very well done in this book.I have learned a lot in this book and definitely recommend it be in the library of any free motion quilter whether you work on a longarm or domestic machine and whether you are a beginner or more advanced.

I really would never have bought this book from just seeing it online. I happened to be browsing in a bookstore and ran across it. I already like the author's work and patterns, but I didn't realize how nice this book is. Very, very nicely done. In addition, inside there are several beautiful quilt patterns, so it's really a bargain. I was already planning on buying the author's Cabin Fever book for the gorgeous patterns in there as I saw some of the quilts on YouTube on Sewing with Nancy where Nancy had her as a guest for two episodes. I can not longer find those episodes on YouTube for some reason, but you can see them on the Wisconsin Public Television site under Sewing with Nancy.

I have to admit, I thought I had it down with free motion quilting but what I have gotten out of this book is more than I expected. You can never learn enough about free motion.

This is an amazing book, for a beginner "quilter" it gives you a heads up on everything. Her warm and upbeat way of encouraging you by providing the "home machine" quilting basics. Then a lot of detail answer to many questions I had...thread,material,batting,fabrics...then with so many pictures to show you what she is talking about with each tutorial, then Natalia finishes the book with 50 Full-size Free-Motion patterns to practice/builds gradually as a guide to more complex designs. Will never get bored & defiantly a book to stash! Might need to buy another as a lender.lol

I purchased this book because I adore Natalie's quilting style. It has plenty of patterns and it shows very easily how to draw the designs. Even experienced quilters can learn new designs

Love this book, it has given me the courage to try free motion machine quilting. Its full of well illustrated instructions and I cant wait to give it a go! I'm new to quilting and this book shows many beautiful quilting patterns and how to achieve them. In the past I have only managed 'stitch in the ditch' but this book is inspiring.
