it works great. I use it to attach my small EDC ...
For what it is, it works great. I use it to attach my small EDC key chain gadgets. It keeps things a bit more organized because of the oval ring design. The opening is a little difficult to pry and I would not recommend using your fingernails. A small flat head screwdriver or a Leatherman Brewzer in my case did the trick. Great value for the quality, quantity, and price.

Small
Even reading the reviews and know how small these were going to be, they ended up being much smaller than I anticipated. I purchased these to replace the rusted & corroded O-ring on my dog's Rabies tag. Unfortunately, these are much too small for this application.I'm sure that this is a great product for what it was meant to be used for, it just did not work for what I needed.

Oval Split rings...what an innovation over circular split rings
Although these oval split rings are new to me and have been trying them out recently...they are definitely stronger than the circular split rings which I like..just a smidgen harder to facilitate but you only have to use it a couple of times. i.e.open and close the split a couple of times but yet receive a much stronger split ring...I would highly recommend this for users of split rings to try...I think they would be more than happy with the results.

Beware: these rings are small
These rings are smaller than I expected, it can be difficult to attach items to them. I've found the stresses of attaching an item with a thicker loop can distort the ring to the degree that it doesn't quite regain its original shape. The rings I received are 10.85mm x 5.4mm x 1.8mm, with the wire diameter being 0.85mm (measured with a digital caliper).

Too small, too rigid
These rings are so rigid and small as to be virtually unusable. They are so small that it takes a knife point to open them and so rigid that is takes some incredible manual dexterity to put these rings onto something. The only possible use for these is between two other, more sensible key rings. But if you have rings on your stuff already, why do you need these? Answer: you don't.

Size-reference photo would have helped
This product was packaged nicely, it arrived promptly and it appears to be made well. Unfortunately, I can't use it because it's way too small to attach my dogs' ID tags to their collars. I admit I should have considered just how tiny "6x12 mm" is (it's about the size of an uncooked navy bean). Still, given that several other reviewers have also said they did not expect such a small size, I'm rating the product 4 stars in hopes it encourages the seller to include a photo showing this product next to a ruler or coin for reference.
