I didn't realize it was non-adjustable
I didn't realize this chair was non-adjustable. It has seat height and tension, nothing more. This is my own fault, it is clearly stated in the product description, but I didn't think to look because frankly I didn't know H-M even MADE such a stripped down chair. I'm tall so the arms were in a completely unusable position for me. On the other hand, if you're not mechanically helpless, you *can* move the arms and lock them into the slot you want. You will need a T25 Torx (the six-pointed star shape) screwdriver to take off the arms. If you remove the back piece (mine was shipped with the back already off) you can see the bolt holding the arms on. Remove the bolt, pull the cosmetic plastic strip out of the arm groove, and screw the bolt back in the arm piece at the desired height. It took me about 10 minutes and the chair now fits me perfectly. So if you bought this chair without realizing the arms aren't adjustable, don't despair!

Great chair, not adjustable
Buyer beware: This chair is ONLY adjustable for height (up/down). I have been researching an adjustable ergonomic office chair for several weeks and came across many glowing reviews of the Herman Miller line. Unfortunately, however, I purchased this model which does not have lumbar support, tilt adjustment, or other options available on many other models. I will be returning this chair. Look carefully at the item details and make sure you buy a chair that fits all of your needs, especially given the costs of the Herman Miller chairs.

my fault but the basic Aeron is not good enough
I have used Aeron chairs for years and of course there have been price increases throughout the years so my first two chairs were about the same price or less then this basic. My mistake was assuming that all Aeron chairs were adjustable so I did not pay attention to the fact that only the higher priced chairs were adjustable. The armrest are miserable for me at the permanent setting. So I suggest not getting the unadjustable Aeron. One of the main calling cards of this expensive chair is the adjustability for comfort. I am sad that I am stuck with this one.

One of my favorite chairs
An inheritance and a killing in the stock market lead me to feel I should upgrade from using a Coleman camp chair as my go to chair. This has proved a stylish substitute. I hit it with polish several times initially and would wipe it down lovingly and just look at it. It is one of the finest things I own and beautiful just to gaze at. Unfortunately the hydraulic up/down fixture leaks and I have to reset everyday. Pain in the whazoo enough that I just use the default setting. It is very comfortable, maybe more so than the under $200 office chair I purchased at Sam's Club for my winter place, but just a bit. After seven years aside from the up/down control it looks and functions good as new. Very well built, not just another pretty face. After reveling in my hot stuff,Silcon Valley startup work of art for a couple years I sat in my old standby, the Coleman camp chair($20-$30 at Costco 25 years ago/alas they don't make them anymore) and you know in a different change of pace way it was just as comfortable as the HermanMiller, not better, just different. Love 'em both, use 'em both.

as long as you get the right size. . .
if you get the right size, it's a perfect chair. unfortunately, lots of companies just bought in bulk. this one has a great color combinatuion that looks great in my environment. lots of other options available if this color is not your thing, but great that i could get this on prime.
