CD/DVD Writer
Ordered this device to record DVD's and CD's for home use. I originally saw this unit at Best Buy Inc. but it was $39.89 at their store. I found it on Amazon for a whole lot less. The unit has a "light" feel to it but otherwise works well. Just plugged it into my desktop computer and all is well! It is USB 2.0

Very easy to use external CD/DVD drive
Though I only used it for playback so far, and I don't use it often, this external CD/DVD drive works perfectly and is a great value for the price. Sadly, CD/DVD drives are rare in new laptop computers, but this helps overcome that problem. The item arrived in perfect condition.

Difficulty with playing dvds
I highly discourage the purchase of this DVD player. There's no rhyme or reason to the dvds it will play or not play. I had a dvd that was edited-wouldn't play. I played a regular unedited dvd worked fine. Tried another didn't work. Too late to return!

Good drive from a good company
This LG DVD drive replaced my old one which I had for many years. I plugged it in, wrote a DVD movie on it and played the movie with no problems. It was truly plug and play with no driver needed.

Excellent drive
I've been using this drive to copy old backup CDs that I burned upto 20 years ago. It worked out of the box and the only issues I've had are due to old/scratched discs.I comes with one of those annoying Y cables that some external drives need to get the required power, but on my desktop PC I haven't had to use it. I just used an old USB A to micro USB cable and it has worked fine.Well worth the money and I am very happy with the purchase.
