I previously had a Carly ODB reader but a recent update by Carly rendered that useless on our car (a Mercedes ML250). I was always really disappointed with the Carly on the Mercedes - it wouldn’t code any features and the codes were unhelpful to say the least, but it was better than nothing. However, following the update (Carly at least refunded me the money) I bought this as I had faulty parking sensors at the rear of the car and I am blown away by how good it is. Build quality is spot on - it’s rugged and it scans SO much quicker than the Carly. And the features it provides blew me away - not only do I get in-depth codes and helpful repair details but I discovered I could dive in and code features - after 7 years, I now finally have rear parking sensors that beep as soon as they start picking up an obstacle (Mercedes default for some crazy reason is to only beep when things are really close!!). It also perfectly diagnosed the rear sensor fault - telling me one sensor was faulty and the one I’d replaced, I’d replaced with the wrong version! Additionally, it allows you to see live frame data as the car is running and also allows you to activate individual body components - like lowering or raising the rear air suspension on our BMW E70 X5 when I needed to replace a rear suspension air bag, or putting wipers into the park position to help with changing the wiper arms - it’s absolutely fantastic. I really can’t tell you how impressed I am! Update - have owned this for some months now and it continues to impress. The ability to access true service menus on the Merc - way ahead of the Carly - is fantastic, and the reports it generates via WR code or direct to email is just brilliant. It does seem to need to be connected to WiFi to work properly; even if you’ve no WiFi where you’re working, I find I can easily tether it to my phone’s personal WiFi hotspot and it works a treat. Brilliant bit of kit and worth every penny.

It's expensive, I'm not going to beat around the bush, it's very expensive but researching diagnostic tools for cars for a few months now before pulling the trigger and trying a few out and I'm so glad I ended on this one. I purchased a 'Launch' branded Diag a few months back and sent it back, didn't do everything i needed and was quite slow/laggy when pressing the screen. My brother works in a car shop and i borrowed their Snap-On one a while back but for the price of those it's not worth it. I ended up with TopDon after seeing many comments on the brand and watching YouTube videos. I only wanted a cheap one until i started comparing models and that grew to "well i can pay the extra £200 i'll get the next one up" and that kept happening till i ended up deciding on the top of the range TopDon offers. I waited for a sale and never looked back. Functionality, does everything i need on the multiple cars I own and will end up owning. Updates are prompt, everytime i log on there is a new brand of car update. I can modify codes, unlock new features, haven't had an issue since. Already comes with a screen protector as well. So no need to purchase on or worry about scratching the screen working on your cards. It looks good, it connects to your WiFi and downloads/installs fine. The only thing I will say is, it is heavy, it comes with a stand which I'm thankful for cause i couldn't keep a hold of it often, rests on the wheel nicely.

If you're looking for genuine Topdon products, I highly recommend the store I purchased from. I bought the Topdon Phoenix Xlink, and it works perfectly. It provides immediate access to permission codes across various modules and supports programming without any issues. On the other hand, my friend bought what seemed like the same product from a different seller on Amazon at a slightly cheaper price. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a non-genuine product. It didn’t provide instant access to permission codes, and programming features sometimes works sometimes restricted. Make sure to buy from a trusted seller to avoid these issues. It’s worth paying a little extra for a product that actually works as intended. Xlink support programming for BMW MERCEDES-BENZ AND AUDI And I do wish if they sell topdon phoenix smart tablet I WANT MORE MANUFACTURERS IN ONE TABLET.

Topdon have done it again with this one. Small, sleek and light yet it feels good in the hand. Very capable little tool. Comes with a charger lead and a DLC cable, the unit charges when plugged into a car which is great, especially when you need to go on a test drive and can't leave it plugged into the wall. Quick and easy to use, perfect for code reading, service resets, DPF regens etc. I've not used it on too many models so I can't say how good it is for everything but IF I had to complain about anything it is that it doesn't do PSA vehicles which isn't a problem for me. Lads at work keep using it so it must be decent. Good value for the money. Well done Topdon.

This device is really, really good for the price if you have an EU car. It has EVERY data stream available, full system scanning (which is super quick), and just has more features than other scan tools of similar or slightly cheaper price. I havent tried the data coding yet but I am sure it probably works flawlessley

Is ok for general functions diagnosis of vehicle issues for most brands of cars. Unfortunately for my BMW the idrive update function doesn't appear properly on the screen so you cannot use this function correctly. You will be ok for all other functions however.

Worked as described and saved having to visit the franchise dealer to reset spark plug wear millage drive train error. Would recommend on this basis alone.

Schnelle VIN Suche, Schnelles auslesen auch wenn zig Steuergeräte verbaut sind, super einfach aufgebaut durch geführte Bedienung und alternativ Listen für "einfache" veranschaulichungen usw.. Die Darstellung ist Mega und alles super detailliert. Alles ist sehr benutzerfreundlich aufgebaut und überschaubar. Updates bei schlechten WLAN Signal werden bei mit dank 5ghz mit über 8mbit/s runter geladen, bei starkem Signal sogar über 17mbit/s und die Updates rasen einfach mal durch. Egal ob Fehlersuche, Grundeinstellungen vom Bauteilen, anlernen von Bauteilen, service Rückstellungen, Codierungen, usw usw usw. Absolutes Allrounder Gerät Top Diagnose Gerät, was sein Geld allemals wert ist, für Hobby Schrauber und auch Für eine Professionelle Werkstatt empfehlenswert. As car prices are getting more outrageous, I'm doing more service to my cars so I can keep them longer. I was at the point where I wanted more than my $100 scanner could do. From watching Youtube videos, I decided I needed a Bi-Directional scanner so I can do more in-depth monitoring of my cars and more complex diagnosing. I watched many videos and saw the name Topdon and started looking at this model. It's a midrange scanner and exceeds what I need know but I know I will grow into it. One thing I wanted was a scanner that did in depth transmission diagnosis. These screen shots are from a 2017 Traverse and wow does it have a lot of modules this scanner can talk too. Another thing I recommend is get used to the menu system as I would find a test and then later not remember where I found it. The screen shots above show the path to get to the features I need. I see long term fuel trim is off a little and I need to investigate that. Maybe the air cleaner is dirty or worse and a rodent may have made a nest in the airbox and is messing up the fuel trim. The blutooth wireless connected quickly with the scanner and worked flawlessly. There is lots more to learn about this and I watched the Topdon Youtube video on the many features which helps me see the power of this unit. This unit feels well put together and not cheaply made. The only thing I see missing is a kickstand in the back to stand the unit up. You will be impressed with this unit.

I got this device because I have a fleet I maintain and work on. I've tried this device on many cars and would say it favors more of the american cars in my experience. Some of the pros and cons I've noticed and listed below. Pros - Rugged Design - The device feels like it has a nice rugged case on it and could withstand a fall which can be very useful when working around cars. - Covered ports - Nice touch. I really like that it has covered ports. This can too be very useful keeping dust, dirt and fluids out. - USB C charging port - I love being able to charge via usb c. This port is most commonly used and have them throughout my home, one of my favorite features. Cons: - Updates - Not 1 click for me. I had a few updates fail the first time around. I had to do the updates about 3 times to get all of them to successfully install. - Coverage - The coverage could be better. This device only has a few maintenance functions. Topdon should have more coverage for the functione it does offer. It was unable to oil reset the 2 vehicles I tried it on. One american and one Asia brand. - Alerts user to disconnect vci - Useful feature for devices with BT vci. For this wired device, not necessary. Overall great product, for the price it is well worth the money and I would say falls into the category right above beginner. It's just one step above the $30 basic scanners out there. If your an advanced DIY or shop, skip on this one.

Very cool tool, very easy to setup - wifi, registration is just a couple taps; downloaded modules for several makes, it connected to the car instantly, identified the VIN and fetched the codes with no problem (I haven't tried any resets yet, like throttle or oil). The touchscreen is great, responsive, menus and navigation are intuitive. (the unit I received from Amazon was used and registered to other buyer, but Topdon's support solved that pronto - Thanks again!)
