"What's that smell?" asked my husband as he walked into the kitchen. I had just tasted one kernel of this mineral salt and the whole kitchen smelled like it tasted--like eggs! Sulfur, to be exact. If you're into the no-pain-no-gain school of all natural goods, this is the salt for you. It is VERY salty which is great. But that sulfur is so dominant that even when I put a little into my chili tonight, the smell overpowered the cumin. I'll be putting this on the front steps this winter, I think. However, if this sounds like your kind of product, it is truly loaded with minerals!

Just received a 1 lb. jar of this black Himalayan salt from Pride of India. Opened the lid and it stunk. I tried a small piece and spit it out. Smelt and tasted like sulfur!!!! I've had other brands of this salt that was very tasty. This...... No way!!!! Unfortunately there is no return on this item. $10 into the trash!!!!

Love the product. I ordered the product on November 27, and it was finally delivered on December 9. In addition to the original delivery date being changed to more than a week out (December 4) ... it was finally delivered about a week after that date. If I didn’t really like/want/need this brand and product so much I would have cancelled. I must now look for other sources for my future orders, seeing that this is a consumable. However, I know it will last me for a long time because I do not use much of it. I specifically wanted this one, because it appears Rani discontinued the 7 oz self-contained w/grinder size. Glad I held onto the container. Now I use this 16oz size to refill.

Purchased this for a vegan tofu frittata recipe. I tasted 1 small Crystal of the black salt & was overwhelmed with the strong eggy flavor. I used it in a tofu scramble today & the scramble was a hit with my scrambled egg lovers. Non-gmo, Himalayan black salt. Great product. Who knew!?

These are little fart rocks, I swear. Give them to your colleagues. Works best as a garnish for yogurt-based fruit smoothies, such as mango lassi. I add this to grapefruit or other citrus juice when macerating botanicals which contain alkaloids before adding them to my wine.

Buyer beware. Ok, this was a little unexpected. Upon opening the sealed container you instantly smell sulfur. As expected it absolutely tastes like sulfur. Salty sulfur. It's remarkably gross...however on food it's fortunately just salty. I honesty can't recommend this product unless you like sulfur.

Other than The strong smell of sulphur but is to be expected and is healthy none the less ..

I went to use this in one of my bathtub soak salts the other day and as soon as I opened it, the overwhelming smell of sulfur literally made me feel like throwing up. It was disgusting and unusable. Both my daughter and I couldn't stand the smell. It was unusable for scented bath salts.
