Hoover design isn'tthe best.
The belt is like the original, works great at first. Problem is, the Hoover design uses a long skinny belt, destined to stretch and slip within months of use. Should have a limit to how much it can stretch, would last longer. No option for owners, it seems.

Replacement belt for bad Hoover design
The belts looked just like the original belts and I later found spare belts that came with or were bought with the vacuum. At 1st it looked way too long. Remembering that the belt would be loose when the handle's straight up to avoid burning the carpet. I tiped the handle back with it upside down. Still loose. Not familiar with this thing I found the lever on the bottom for hose / upright. It was on hose. Fliped it to upright and the belt tighted up when the handles tilted. The 2 problems with the Hoover. 1. No belt part numbers on the unit. It could have been easily printed on the nameplate sticker. Instead I spent a lot of trying to figure what belt # fits. 2. No auto tensioner on the belt. The belt is only so tight. Wish it was tighter. Yes, it needs to slip it the rooler gets jambed. But the belt is only going to get looser. When the belt loosens the vacuum does not work so well.

Appears to be genuine Hoover parts. Fit. Arrived in a timely manner. With the help of youtube the vac is fixed.

When you need a replacement
These are probably fine, but they seem fairly unsubstantial. After insulation, I still have a problem with this plastic vacuum. The old ones were stretched, so they won’t last forever.
