I had low expectations purchasing this due to the typical lower quality electronics Nerf uses for their toys (Elite Camera ECS-12 and Elite Battlescout cameras, respectively) compared to the expensive professional equipment on the market today. Nerf Guru, “Coop” showed the world through his YouTube channel that this was not so great, and that also helped to lower my expectations going into this review. At first glance, I found it to be a lot larger in person. This thing is a hulking monstrosity of an attachment. After installing the 4 AA batteries (not included) to operate this optic sight, I noticed the weight of the attachment increased considerably to the left. There is a knob on the right that supposedly tightens the attachment part’s grip on the tactical rail, but it can still be removed even though it is in the locked position. It just keeps it a bit more secure when the user is running about, which is about enough to prevent it from falling off and breaking (provided it does not hit rocks or something solid like tile or a cemented surface). The rubber screen shroud is firm and provides better coverage than the Elite Camera ECS-12 blaster’s camera shroud, and actually does block some [lower level] sunlight from distorting your view of the screen. There are 7 Infrared LEDs surrounding the camera lens which is sunk into the middle to allow it to see things in the dark with less interference from the LEDs themselves than if it were to be right flush up next to it. Coop said in his review that the day vision worked better than the night vision at night, but mine performed better in the dark using night vision mode, as depicted by the hieroglyphics next to the switch on the top left near the back of the attachment. This switch is obviously used to switch between the modes; night, day, and off (moon, sun, and O). The other switch on the top center of the attachment is the zoom toggle switch. This switch allows you to zoom in and out x1, x1.5, x2, x3, x4, and x5. There is no lag, and if there was, it must have been very little because I was unable to detect any. The day screen setting shows in grey, black, and white with some hints of blue and orange accents that are still slightly visible. As expected, the night screen setting is shown in different hues of green and black. In conclusion, this is a very cool and fun tactical attachment that does what it is designed to do for the amount you pay for it, so it is highly suggested that if you were planning on purchasing this product, that you try to get it on sale if at all possible. Whether you feel it justifies it’s use as a toy or not is strictly your own opinion, but let it be known that it operates in both the light and in the dark enough to allow for those in favor of this device to be considered a valid choice... if tactics are your thing.

My son was over the moon about the cool tech factor. The night vision got the most response from him. I'm impressed with the effectiveness of the night vision. The scope does not add to shooting accuracy nor does it add to the shooting range. The scope can zoom up to 5 times but it does not provide added range of the nerf darts. All in all, my son is very excited about the scope. It boosts his excitement level for using his nerf arsenal beyond what I expected. That in itself is worth the price. I feel, for a toy scope, the price is high, nearing almost $100, but it certainly is an exciting add-on.

It works great and easy, it click it on, it loads for only a second then your set. Kids pick it up and almost immediately know how to use it. It’s built well and sticks on most nerf guns with rails. It doesn’t weigh too much so don’t worry about throwing off balance. I would recommend this to anybody who is really into nerf guns.
